    摘要: A multilayer pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) film having a first acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive layer and an opposing second acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive layer, wherein the first pressure sensitive adhesive layer has a glass transition temperature Tg≧0° C. and a content of a strongly polar acrylate of 7.5 to 15 wt.-% in its precursor, and the second pressure sensitive adhesive layer has a Tg≦0° C. and contains 0.5 to 12 wt.-% of a strongly polar acrylate in its precursor, wherein the content of the strongly polar acrylate of the precursor of the first pressure sensitive adhesive layer exceeds the content of the strongly polar acrylate of the precursor of the second pressure sensitive adhesive layer by at least 2 wt.-% and wherein the Tg of the first pressure sensitive adhesive layer exceeds the Tg of the second pressure sensitive adhesive layer by at least 5° C.

    摘要: The invention relates to a continuous self-metered process of forming a multilayer film comprising at least two superimposed polymer layers comprising the steps of: (i) providing a substrate (5); (ii) providing two or more coating knives (2, 3, 4) which are offset, independently from each other, from said substrate (5) and/or from an adjacent coating knife to form at least one substrate gap (9) relative to the surface of the substrate (5) and at least one outlet gap (10) relative to the surface of an adjacent coating knife; (iii) moving the substrate (5) relative to the coating knives (2, 3, 4) in a downstream direction (6), (iv) providing curable liquid precursors of the polymers (I, II, III) to the upstream side of the coating knives (2, 3, 4) thereby coating the two or more precursors (I, II, III) through the respective gaps (9, 10) as superimposed layers (12, 13, 14) onto the substrate (5); (v) optionally providing one or more solid films (1 1) and applying these essentially simultaneously with the formation of the adjacent lower polymer layer, and (vi) curing the precursor of the multilayer film thus obtained; wherein a lower layer of a curable liquid precursor (I, II, III) is covered by an adjacent upper layer of a curable liquid precursor (I, II, III) or a film (1 1), respectively, essentially without exposing said lower layer of a curable liquid precursor (I, II, III).

    摘要: A continuous self-metered process of forming a multilayer film comprising at least two superimposed polymer layers comprising the steps of: providing a substrate; providing two or more coating knives which are offset, independently from each other, from said substrate to form a gap normal to the surface of the substrate; moving the substrate relative to the coating knives in a downstream direction, providing curable liquid precursors of the polymers to the upstream side of the coating knives thereby coating the two or more precursors through the respective gaps as superimposed layers onto the substrate; optionally providing one or more solid films and applying these essentially simultaneously with the formation of the adjacent lower polymer layer, and curing the precursor of the multilayer film thus obtained; wherein a lower layer of a curable liquid precursor is covered by an adjacent upper layer of a curable liquid precursor or a film, respectively, essentially without exposing said lower layer of a curable liquid precursor.

Also provided are processes for making profiled tapes and methods for applying the tapes to rotor blades and blades containing protective tapes.

    摘要: Method of preparing urethane based fluorinated monomers comprising (i) reacting a fluorinated alcohol and an isocyanate functional non-fluorinated monomer or (ii) reacting in one or two steps a fluorinated alcohol, a polyisocyanate and an isocyanate reactive non-fluorinated monomer, wherein reactions (i) and (ii) are carried out in the presence of one or more reactive diluents, the reactive diluents having an ethylenically unsaturated group and being free of isocyanate reactive groups. The method does not require an inert organic solvent as a reaction medium, thus excluding volatile organic compounds (VOC's). The resulting compositions can be readily and conveniently used to prepare radiation curable coating compositions without the need to remove organic solvent from the composition.

Also provided are protective coatings obtained from the reactive compositions and methods of applying the coatings to articles.
