In particular, the present invention comprises thermostable DNA polymerases from the hyperthermophilic eubacterial species Thermoactinomyces vulgaris. The present invention also provides methods for utilizing naturally-occurring and non-naturally-occurring forms of T. vulgaris DNA polymerase in sequencing, reverse transcription, and amplification reactions.
