摘要: A stitchbonded fabric has a regionally segmented base layer in which one or more physical properties in at least one region is substantially different from those of another region. Typical physical properties that can differ among substrate regions include density, basis weight, chemical composition, thickness, porosity, permeability, elongation, elasticity, tensile strength, barrier properties, dyeability, abrasion resistance, and texture. The stitchbonded fabric thus has an improved combination of properties. In one aspect the base layer is discontinuous such that at least one region is devoid of all substrate material. The base layer is stitched continuously over its full extent such that all regions including open areas devoid of substrate material are stitched. The stitchbonded fabric with a discontinuous base layer advantageously can provide enhanced stretch capability to the overall fabric, especially in the cross direction and is particularly useful for stretchable skirts of mattress covers. A process for making a stitchbonded fabric includes continuously feeding substrate webs of diverse properties to a stitchbonding machine. Optionally, the webs are laterally separated or partially excised to create regions devoid of substrate material.

摘要: A composite sheet is disclosed. The composite sheet comprises an open random fibrous web having substantially vertical fibers near a top surface, a first binder resin and a second binder resin, wherein the first binder resin has a melting point lower than the melting point of the second binder resin, wherein the melting point of the second resin is lower than the melting point of the web, wherein the resins are activated in situ with the web fibers to form a resin-fiber rich region on the top surface and wherein the abrasion-resistant sheet can withstand at least about 3,000 cycles on the Wyzenbeek abrasion test using 80-grit abrasive paper. An abrasion-resistant sheet comprising a single binder resin and other abrasion-resistant sheets are also disclosed. Processes for making these abrasion-resistant sheets are further disclosed herein.

摘要: Disclosed herein a stitch-bonded fabric comprising at least one fibrous web layer having a plurality of the fibers with a first length of more than about 25 mm, oriented substantially in a cross-direction (XD) of the stitch-bonded fabric wherein a density of the at least one fibrous web layer is less than about 0.12 g/cm3. The at least one fibrous web layer is stitch-bonded with yarns following a pattern of linear stitches along a machine direction (MD) spaced from about 1.4 mm to about 4.0 mm along XD, and repeating with a spacing front about 0.8 mm to about 2.5 mm in MD, wherein the plurality of fibers having said first length are captured by multiple stitches. A density of fibers and yarn enclosed within the stitches is above about 0.10 g/cm3 and below about 5.0 g/cm3 and the linear stiches are depressed below exposed the wales between the linear stitches along MD. The stitch-bonded yarns can be heat set to stabilize the stitch-bonded fabric.

摘要: A cooking pad has a three dimensional surface configuration of peaks and valleys for cooking food. The three dimensional surface configuration elevates the food to a level where it cooks efficiently and evenly. The three dimensional surface configuration rapidly moves liquids expelled from the food during cooking away down depressions and prevents splattering of the liquids back onto the food. The cooking pad may be preformed to the three dimensional surface configuration or may assume this three dimensional surface configuration upon exposure to a cooking environment.

摘要: A protective sleeve cover is described for protecting anilox, gravure, or other costly rolls. The protective sleeve cover is cylindrical in geometry and has a means at one end for securing the cover to the roll being protected. The protective sleeve cover is readily mounted or demounted from the roll. Expansion tabs on the inner diameter of the protective sleeve cover create an interference fit with the roll being protected, causing the protective sleeve cover to deform and generate radial forces that enhance the gripping action of the protective sleeve cover to the roll. Friction pads can be added for enhanced gripping function with the roll.
