Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for visually depicting a vessel and evaluating a physiological condition of the vessel are disclosed. One embodiment includes obtaining, at a first time, a first image of the vessel, the image being in a first medical modality, and obtaining, at a second time subsequent to the first time, a second image of the vessel, the image being in the first medical modality. The method also includes spatially co-registering the first and second images and outputting a visual representation of the co-registered first and second images on a display. Further, the method includes determining a physiological difference between the vessel at the first time and the vessel at the second time based on the co-registered first and second images, and evaluating the physiological condition of the vessel of the patient based on the determined physiological difference.

Abstract: A radiation imaging apparatus comprising a detection unit in which a plurality of pixels are arranged, a communication unit configured to receive a control signal including an imaging mode for acquiring a radiation image by the detection unit and a controller is provided. Abstract: Method and/or apparatus embodiments for 3-D cephalometric analysis of a patient, acquires reconstructed volume image data from a computed tomographic scan of a patient's head including one or more dentition elements within the mouth of the patient, and computes one or more cephalometric parameters for the patient according to the reconstructed volume image data and the one or more dentition elements. One or more results generated from cephalometric analysis of the one or more computed cephalometric parameters can be stored, transmitted or displayed. The reconstructed volume image data is updated with 3D surface model from a subsequent optical scan of the patient's dentition and the one or more cephalometric parameters for the patient are re-computed based on the updated reconstructed volume image data.

Abstract: A parenteral nutritional diagnostic system, apparatus, and method are disclosed. In an example, a parenteral nutritional diagnostic apparatus determines muscle quantity and muscle quality of a patient's psoas muscle to determine a nutritional status of the patient. An image interface is configured to receive a medical image including radiodensity data related to imaged tissue of the patient. The apparatus also includes a processor configured to use the medical image to determine a tissue surface area for each different value of radiodensity and determine a distribution of the tissue surface area for each radiodensity value. The processor is configured to determine muscle quality by locating a soft tissue peak within the distribution that corresponds to a local peak in at a region related to at least one of muscle tissue, organ tissue, and intramuscular adipose tissue. The processor determines the nutritional status of the patient based on the soft tissue peak.

Abstract: A system and method that acquire (i) at least a reference image including one of a preoperative image of a surgical site with skeletal and articulating bones and a contralateral image on an opposite side of the patient from the surgical site and (ii) at least an intraoperative image of the site after an implant has been affixed to the articulating bone. The system generates at least one reference landmark point on at least one anatomical feature on the articulating bone in the reference image and at least one intraoperative landmark point on that anatomical feature in the intraoperative image. The reference and intraoperative images are compared and differences between the orientation of the articulating bone in the two images are utilized to analyze at least one of offset and length differential.
