    Abstract: An exhaust rocker assembly for operating an exhaust valve of an engine during a compression-release engine braking operation. The exhaust rocker assembly comprises an exhaust rocker arm and a self-contained compression brake control module (CBCM) mounted to the exhaust rocker arm and operatively coupled to the exhaust valve for controlling a lift and a phase angle thereof. The CBCM includes a casing, an actuation piston disposed outside the casing so as to define an actuation piston cavity, a reset check valve provided between the casing and the actuation piston, and a compression brake actuator disposed in the casing. The actuation piston reciprocates relative to the casing. The compression brake actuator includes a control piston. The control piston engages the check valve when deactivated so as to unlock the actuation piston cavity and disengages from the check valve when activated so as to lock the actuation piston cavity.

    Abstract: A replaceable hydraulic lash adjuster and method for assembling such are disclosed. The replaceable hydraulic lash adjuster includes a body, a piston, a check valve and a spring. The body configured to be received in and released from a compartment of a rocker arm. The body including a sidewall surrounding a floor. The floor including a passage that extends between an upper cavity and a lower cavity of the body. The piston disposed in the lower cavity. The piston defining a pocket. A check valve is disposed inside the lower cavity and a spring is disposed inside the pocket. The replacable hydraulic lash adjuster is configured to be slidingly removeable from the rocker arm.

    Abstract: A switching rocker arm assembly constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure can include an outer arm, an inner arm, a pivot axle, a bearing axle, a first torsional bearing axle spring and a second torsional bearing axle spring. The outer arm can have a first outer side arm and a second outer side arm. The outer arm can further include first and second torsional spring mounts.     Abstract: A valve lash adjuster for vehicles may include a piston having a body and an opening/closing unit. The body has an open surface in a bottom and an oil passage extending from a rocker arm shaft to the open surface, such that oil flows through the oil passage. The opening/closing unit is disposed on the oil passage to selectively open the oil passage depending on a pressure of the oil. A cylinder accommodates the piston. The cylinder slides downward to form an oil chamber between an inner side surface thereof and the piston. The oil chamber contains the oil therein.

    Abstract: A valve actuation mechanism includes rockers moved by a camshaft, each rocker being adapted to exert a valve opening force on at least a portion of a valve opening actuator of each cylinder, via an activation piston, housed in a bore of the rocker and movable with respect to the rocker under action of a fluid pressure raise in a chamber fluidly linked to the bore, from a first position to a second position, in which a cam follower of the rocker reads at least one auxiliary cam sector of a cam of the camshaft so as to perform an engine operating function.     Abstract: A dual feed hydraulic lash adjuster includes a plunger assembly slidingly disposed in a lash adjuster body and having an end adapted to cooperate with a valve actuating mechanism, the plunger assembly forming a low-pressure first chamber and a high-pressure second chamber with the body, the plunger assembly having a first aperture fluidly communicating with the first chamber, a passageway fluidly communicating with the first chamber, and a second aperture fluidly communicating with the passageway, and a separate fluid pressure separator disposed in the plunger assembly between the first aperture and the second aperture to prevent passage of hydraulic fluid between the first chamber and the passageway, wherein a passage is provided through the fluid pressure separator to provide for evacuation of air from the lash adjuster.
