Abstract:
A friction roller (10) includes a support roller (11) and an annular elastic ring (15) which it externally fitted to the support roller (11). The support roller (11) is divided into two portions in a thickness direction, that is, a first divided roller (12) and a second divided roller (13). A flange (127) is formed on one side of the first divided roller (12), and a taper face (128) is formed in an outer peripheral face of the first divided roller (12). A knurling portion (129) is formed in the taper face (128). A flange (136) is formed on one side of the second divided roller (13), and a taper face (137) is formed in an outer peripheral face of the second divided roller (13). A knurling portion (138) is formed in the taper face (137). Meanwhile, taper faces (151, 152) expanding outward are formed in an inner peripheral face of the elastic ring (15). The taper faces (151, 152) of the elastic ring (15) are engaged with the taper face (128) of the first divided roller (12) and the taper face (137) of the second divided roller (13).
Abstract:
A deflation-proof penumatic tire comprises a casing and a substantially void-free, preferably oil-containing elastomeric filling material. The tire casing is injected with a combination comprising a polyol, an organic polyisocyanate and water, in amounts and under conditions sufficient to produce carbon dioxide and form a polyurea-containing polyurethane elastomer in which the carbon dioxide is dissolved in the elastomer, thereby providing a substantially void-free filling material. The formulation permits the addition of a substantial amount of extender oil while retaining an acceptable level of hardness.
Abstract:
A method of filling a tire on a vehicle wheel with polyurethane foam comprises fitting the tire to the rim injecting liquid ingredient materials for the foam through an inlet opening in the rim closing the inlet opening revolving the wheel about a vertical axis to distribute the ingredients around the interior of the tire and when foam begins to escape through an outlet which is diametrically opposite to the inlet opening, closing a shut off valve at said outlet to prevent escape of further foam.
Abstract:
A BULLET PROOF VEHICLE TIRE HAVING A PERIPHERAL COATING OF SOLID POLYURETHANE ELASTOMERS AND A CORE OF PREDOMINANTLY OPEN-CELLED MICROCELLULAR POLYURETHANE ELASTOMERS HAVING A DENSITY OF FROM ABOUT 6 TO ABOUT 25 PUNDS PER CUBIC FOOT PRODUCED BY THE REACTION OF (A) A POLYOL CON-
TAINING AT LEAST ABOUT 35% OF SECONDARY HYDROXYL ENDGROUPS, (B) AN ORGANIC POLYISOCYANATE, (C) A SURFACTANT, (D) A FOAMING AGENT, AND (E) A CATALYST.
