The present invention provides an electrically conductive rubber composition which can be efficiently and sufficiently foamed and crosslinked by means of a continuous crosslinking apparatus including a microwave crosslinking device and a hot air crosslinking device without generation of ammonia and carbon monoxide. The electrically conductive rubber composition comprises a rubber component, a crosslinking component for crosslinking the rubber component, and a foaming component including sodium hydrogen carbonate and citric acid.

The invention relates to an exchangeable cylinder jacket-shaped cover made of pile whose threads radially project outward. The aim of the invention is to provide a cover of this type, which has a high cohesive strength both in the axial as well as radial direction and which also has an outer and inner cylindrical contour that is as continuous as possible. To this end, the invention provides that the cover consists of an endless helically wound pile strip whose edges are interconnected by an endless helically running seam without forming a step that disrupts the cylindrical outer contour.

In order to manufacture a discharging roller which discharges a recording medium from a recording apparatus, there are a first die formed with a first recess extending in an axial direction of a shaft portion of the discharging roller, and a second die formed with a second recess extending in the axial direction. The first die and the second die are combined such that the first recess and the second recess face to form a continuous cavity. Synthetic resin is injected into the cavity to mold a bore portion of the shaft portion.

A roller assembly primarily adapted for sanitary uses includes an amorphous thermoplastic roller tube and crystalline thermoplastic end caps. Each end cap includes a tapered hub and a radial flange. A plurality of tapered barbs are formed on the hub. The end caps and tube are mechanically interconnected by an ultrasonic insertion device which causes melting and resolidifying of the roller tube about the end cap. The roller tube is held and the end cap is guided to a concentric position by a clamp havig a pair of jaws which define a bore. The tube is clamped in the bore during insertion of the end cap.

Composite forming screens comprise a layer of hard rubber with a Shore D hardness of 12-90, preferably 33-90 and most preferably 46-60 and in preferred embodiments, comprise a support layer of plastic or metal bonded to the hard rubber to form a composite. The forming screens may be planar or cylindrical and are provided with a plurality of apertures or through holes and a pattern of fine scale structures. Methods of making the forming screens are also disclosed.

The present invention provides a conductive roller having a core and a conductive foam formed on a peripheral surface thereof.The conductive foam consists of a three-phase rubber composition containing 35 to 50 parts by mass of epichlorohydrin rubber, 25 to 35 parts by mass of ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer rubber, and 25 to 30 parts by mass of acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber as a rubber component thereof. The conductive foam does not have a coating layer formed on a surface thereof.The conductive roller has an Asker C hardness, an electric resistance value, an average surface-cell diameter, and a number of surface cells set to 30 to 36°, 106 to 107 Ω, 100 to 200 μm, and 50 to 120/1.5 mm square respectively.
