    Abstract: A method includes receiving a first message from a client device requesting an establishment of a transmission control protocol connection, wherein the first message contains a first sequence number for the transmission control protocol connection, calculating, based on the first sequence number and a first integer from a list of a plurality of randomly generated integers, a second sequence number for the transmission control protocol connection, sending a second message to the client device in response to the first message, wherein the second message contains the second sequence number, receiving a fourth message containing an acknowledgement number, extracting a second integer from the acknowledgement number, determining whether the fourth message originated with the client device by comparing the second integer to the first integer, and sending a fifth message to the client device, wherein a type of the fifth message is selected based on an outcome of the determining.

    Abstract: Network access management can include receiving a request to enable network access for a guest user device at a geographic location associated with a gateway device. Connection parameters can be defined, the connection parameters including an effective-from date and time and an effective-to date and time. Credentials associated with the guest user device can be stored with data defining limits associated with the network access for the guest user device, the limits including a date and time limit. The gateway device can detect a guest login using the credentials; enable network access for the guest user device; apply, to the network access, the limits; and determine if the date and time limit is satisfied. When the date and time limit is exceeded, the network access can be terminated and the credentials can be revoked.

    Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards adaptively selecting a repetition level in wireless communications, based on events to improve coverage range via the repetition level while not unnecessarily reducing throughput. One such event can include a current signal-to-noise-ratio, e.g., as reported in a channel quality indicator report from a user equipment. Another such event can comprise a number of consecutive hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgments or negative acknowledgments (HARQ ACKS/NACKS), in which consecutive ACKs tend to indicate good signal quality, while consecutive NACKs tend to indicate poor signal quality. A combination of channel quality indicator-based adaptive repetition level and HARQ ACK/NACK-based adaptive repetition level can be employed.

    Abstract: A method includes determining an operating frequency of an antenna at a component of the antenna. The method includes determining, at the component of the antenna, a filter node of a plurality of filter nodes to activate to tune the antenna to the operating frequency. Adjustment of the characteristic facilitates tuning the antenna to the operating frequency.
