    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for cultivating a microorganism capable of utilizing an organic feedstock, comprising the steps of: (i) cultivating the microorganism in one or more bioreactors (1); (ii) capturing CO2 from the one or more bioreactors (1) and reducing the CO2 to an organic feedstock in a reduction unit (3); and (iii) feeding at least a part of the organic feedstock from the reduction unit (3) into one or more bioreactors (1).

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for obtaining a lipid from a composition comprising microbial cells, the process comprising: treating the composition comprising microbial cells to a temperature of about 60° C. to about 95° C. at a pH of about 9 to about 11; separating the treated microbial cells into a light phase and a heavy phase; sequentially, in one or more cycles, raising the pH of the concentrated microbial cell composition to 10 or above, followed by lowering the pH of the concentrated microbial cell composition to a pH of less than 6 to lyse the concentrated microbial cell composition, wherein the raising and lowering of the pH also demulsifies the concentrated microbial cell composition; separating the lipid from the demulsified cell composition, and recovering the lipid.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing a granular nylon salt material, wherein an aqueous mixture, comprising at least 65 wt. % of salt components, and at most 35 wt. % of an aqueous medium, the weight percentages (wt. %) being relative to the total weight of the aqueous mixture, is flashed from a pressure vessel via a flash valve into a flash chamber, thereby evaporating the aqueous medium in an amount sufficient to result in a residual moisture content of at most 7.5 wt. %, and forming a granular nylon salt material. The invention also relates to a process for preparing a nylon polymer, comprising direct solid state polymerization of the granular salt material prepared by flash granulation.
