    摘要: Apparatus and methods are described for encoding and decoding image data for image blocks which form a picture by having a deblocking filter remove coding artifacts caused by local inverse tone mapping for intra-layer texture prediction for bit depth-scalability. A deblocking filter is applied at the enhancement layer for bit depth scalability. The deblocking filter is adjusted to remove coding artifacts caused by local inverse tone mapping for intra-layer texture prediction for the bit depth scalability. The boundary strength of the deblocking filter is adjusted based on a threshold that is based on a difference of inverse tone mapping parameters for the block and at least one adjacent block with respect to the block.

    摘要: The present application relates to methods and compositions for triggering RNAi. Triggered RNAi is highly versatile because the silencing targets are independent of the detection targets. In some embodiments, a method of silencing a target gene is provided. The method comprises providing an initiator to a cell comprising a detection target and a silencing target gene, wherein the detection target is different from the silencing target gene; providing a first substrate monomer to the cell, wherein the first substrate monomer comprises a silencing target complement region that is substantially complementary to a portion of the silencing target gene, and an initiator complement region that is substantially complementary to a portion of the initiator; and providing a second substrate monomer to the cell, wherein the second substrate monomer comprises a silencing target region that is substantially complementary to the silencing target complement region; wherein binding of the detection target to the initiator initiates formation of an inactivator double-stranded RNA (inactivator dsRNA) which silences the silencing target gene.

    摘要: There are provided methods and apparatus for weighted prediction in scalable video encoding and decoding. A scalable video encoder includes an encoder (100) for encoding a block in an enhancement layer of a picture by applying a weighting parameter to an enhancement layer reference picture. The weighting parameter used to encode the block in the enhancement layer is adaptively selected from between a weighting parameter applied to a lower layer reference picture to encode a block in the lower layer of the picture and a different weighting parameter applicable in the enhancement layer. The block in the enhancement layer corresponds to the block in the lower layer. The enhancement layer reference picture corresponds to the lower layer reference picture.

In one embodiment, an apparatus and method encodes picture data for at least a block in a picture using template matching prediction, wherein the template matching prediction involves selecting from among a plurality of residual updating schemes for use in encoding the block. In another embodiment, an apparatus and method encodes a block in a picture using template matching prediction, wherein the template matching prediction involves partitioning the block into a plurality of sub-blocks, and applying a transform to a residual of a particular sub-block from among the plurality of sub-blocks subsequent to searching for a prediction for the particular sub-block block and prior to completion of processing of the block with respect to the template matching prediction.

    摘要: An encoder, a decoder, corresponding encoding and decoding methods, video signal structure, and storage media are provided for scalable video encoding and decoding. A scalable video encoder includes an encoder for encoding a picture to form a base layer bitstream and an enhancement layer bitstream. The base layer bitstream and the enhancement layer bitstream are formed by partitioning the picture into a plurality of image blocks, grouping the plurality of image blocks into one or more slice groups in the base layer bitstream and into two or more slice groups in the enhancement layer bitstream, encoding all of the one or more slice groups in the base layer bitstream and less than all of the two or more slice groups in the enhancement layer such that at least one slice group from among the two or more slice groups is intentionally un-encoded in the enhancement layer bitstream, encoding a syntax element in a header to indicate the at least one intentionally un-encoded slice group in the enhancement layer.
