    摘要: An apparatus for thermal treatment of tissue, includes an outer member having a frame dimensioned for engagement with the hand of a surgeon and an elongated portion connected to the frame and extending distally therefrom. The elongated portion defines a longitudinal axis and has an axial opening. An electromagnetic probe assembly is releasably mounted to the outer member. The electromagnetic probe assembly includes a handle and an electromagnetic probe connected to the handle. The electromagnetic probe is at least partially positionable within the axial opening of the elongated portion and is adapted for reciprocal longitudinal movement therewithin between a non-deployed position and a deployed positions. A manually operable release member releasably mounts the electromagnetic probe assembly to the outer member. The release member is dimensioned and positioned for manual manipulation to move between a first position engaging the electromagnetic probe assembly and preventing release thereof from the outer member, and a second position releasing the electromagnetic probe assembly to thereby facilitate assembly and disassembly of the electromagnetic probe assembly with respect to the outer member.

    摘要: A gyratory crusher includes a flexible dust seal having an outer edge attached to a cone head of the crusher and to an outer of a ball-bearing seal, an inner race of which is attached to a mounting arrangement for rotationally mounting an eccentric member about a crusher axis with a pair of taper bearings and for rotationally mounting the cone head about a cone head axis offset from the crusher axis. The cone head is also mounted on a plurality of hydrostatic bearings. A mantel of the crusher is attached to the cone head by a removable cap nut and mantel stud. The crusher includes a self-contained lubricating system and a hydraulic tramp iron relief system with connections contained internally within structure of a lower frame portion of the crusher. The crusher includes a drive gear centered about the crusher axis and attached directly to the eccentric member. The crusher also includes a thermal relief system adapted to transfer thermal energy from the mounting arrangement to the lower frame portion connected to the mounting arrangement.

    摘要: A voice response system for providing interactive data exchange between an outside party, an operator and one or more data bases wherein a voice path switch initially connects an outside party to a database through a voice response unit. The voice response unit provides digitized voice prompts and questions to the outside party. The outside party responds to the prompts by entering selected numbers on a telephone touchtone keypad. The voice response unit then converts data from the database to voice signals recognizable by the outside party. The voice response unit or the outside party may selectively transfer the transaction to a human operator. In addition to providing transfer of voice signals from the voice response system to an operator, the system provides the operator with a list of information transacted thus far between the outside party and the voice response unit. The system also includes a workstation programmable function feature which performs a selected task upon the occurrence of a predetermined event such as receiving data at the operator workstation or removing or replacing the operator telephone handset.

    摘要: Several embodiments of apparatus for producing disposable absorbent personal articles are disclosed. According to one embodiment, apparatus is disclosed for depositing superabsorbent polymer powder on a portion of a fluff mat in a given concentration greater than zero and a second, different concentration of superabsorbent polymer powder on another portion of a fluff layer, so that there is a heavier concentration of super absorbent polymer in a target area than in areas adjacent the target area. Such apparatus has a dosing cylinder with a discontinuous outer cylindrical surface which has a pattern of first dosing depressions adjacent to a pattern of second dosing depressions. The dosing cylinder is rotated through a polymer powder hopper and powder received in the first and second depressions is sequentially discharged from the hopper and deposited on a fluff substrate in alternating areas of high powder concentration and low powder concentration. Discreet sections of the fluff containing superabsorbent are cut and incorporated in personal absorbent articles and apparatus for marking such articles is disclosed so that the mark gives an indication as to whether or not the apparatus is operating synchronously or not.

The sweeping feet are rotated from a first lautering position to a second sweeping position by pressure exerted on the feet by material in the lautering vessel.     摘要: A thin wiped-film evaporator comprises an upright cylindrical vessel with a vertical rotor shaft extending concentrically within the vessel. An inlet pipe supplies liquid to be evaporated to a distributor which spreads the liquid around the inner wall of the vessel, and a series of wiper assemblies carried by the rotor shaft below the distributor serve for the creation of a thin liquid film on the vessel's inner wall, heating means being provided to evaporate the liquid film. The evaporator includes a vapor inlet and a liquid discharge.To enable the evaporator to handle corrosive liquids or products, the internal surface of the vessel is corrosion resistant as are the other parts within the evaporator. In particular, the vessel's inner wall and the rotor shaft are glass (or enamel) lined and additionally at least part of each wiper assembly can be glassed: the other internal parts can be of fluorocarbon. This arrangement enables the evaporator to satisfactorily handle high temperature materials, and is also conducive to greater purity and longer evaporator life. Each wiper assembly includes an axial series of radial finger elements pivotally carried by a spindle: such an assembly satisfactorily caters for out-of-roundness and straightness irregularities in the vessel.

    摘要: Resinous fibers of nanometer to micrometer width dimensions are drawn from a multi-component system by a melt extrusion process. The process includes a step of combining a fiber resin with a water-soluble carrier resin to form a resinous mixture. The resinous mixture is extruded to form an extruded resinous mixture, the extruded resinous mixture having strands of the fiber resin with the carrier resin. The extruded resinous mixture is then contacted with water to separate the strands of the fiber resin from the carrier resin. An electrically conductive fibrous sheet is then formed from the strands of fiber resin. The fibrous sheets are useful as diffusion layers in fuel cells.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for filling a therapeutic substance or drug within a hollow wire that forms a stent. The stent is placed within a chamber housing a fluid drug formulation. During filling, the chamber is maintained at or near the vapor-liquid equilibrium of the solvent of the fluid drug formulation. To fill the stent, a portion of the stent is placed into contact with the fluid drug formulation until a lumenal space defined by the hollow wire is filled with the fluid drug formulation via capillary action. After filling is complete, the stent is retracted such that the stent is no longer in contact with the fluid drug formulation. The solvent vapor pressure within the chamber is reduced to evaporate a solvent of the fluid drug formulation. A wicking means may control transfer of the fluid drug formulation into the stent.
