摘要: The image forming portion of this image forming apparatus includes a LSU, a photosensitive drum, a developing unit holder, a multiple number of developing units, an intermediate transfer element, a transfer element and a fixing unit. All the developing units are of an identical configuration. Therefore, for replacement of developing units, the operator may and should remove any color of developing unit in the same fashion and attach a fresh developing unit of the color in the same fashion. The image forming portion sets up the image forming conditions for individual colors in the developing order.

摘要: A brake force control apparatus is provided that performs a brake assist control in which a brake force larger than that of a normal time is generated when an emergency braking is required in a vehicle, and prevents a change in a driving stability when an abnormality occurs in a vehicle characteristic changing control for maintaining the driving stability of the vehicle. When an abnormality is detected (steps 102, 106-114) in one of the vehicle characteristic changing controls, an increasing slope of a brake force of rear wheels is decreased (step 104) in the brake assist control. Alternatively, the brake assist control may be prohibited (step 140).

摘要: In an optical information recording and reproducing apparatus, information is recorded or reproduced by moving a recording medium relative to an optical head. In order to execute information recording onto the medium in the course of the relative movement involving acceleration and deceleration, the generation timing and intensity of a light beam to be generated in correspondence with the information to be recorded are controlled in response to a varying speed of the relative movement so that data pits to be formed in the recording medium can be standardized in pitch and size irrespective of the relative movement speed. Also, in order to permit information reproduction from the medium in the course of the relative movement involving acceleration and deceleration, reproduction timing of data read by the optical head is set in synchronism with variation in the relative movement speed so that the data can be reproduced at proper timing irrespective of the relative movement speed. With such arrangements, there can be achieved a highly increased information recording/reproduction speed, extended information recording area, reduced size and cost of the apparatus, and reduced power consumption in the apparatus.

摘要: A high-density recording medium has data tracks and guide tracks formed on both sides of each of the data tracks. Intervals between the guide tracks are set in such a manner that the outer edges of two adjacent guide tracks correspond in position to two tracking laser beam spots on the recording medium. To allow use of either of the high-density recording medium, and a conventional recording medium on which intervals between guide tracks are set in such a manner that the inner edges of two adjacent guide tracks correspond in position to two tracking laser beam spots, control is performed such that polarity of a tracking control servo is selectively inverted depending upon which of the high-density and conventional recording medium is used.

摘要: A method for detecting a friction coefficient of the road surface includes a detection step of detecting an operating angle of the steering wheel of the vehicle, a vehicle speed and an operating pressure of the hydraulic power steering unit for the front wheels, and a calculation step of calculating the friction coefficient of the road surface on turning of the vehicle by considering relationships among a slip angle of the front wheel, the friction coefficient of the road surface and a cornering force of the front wheels. The method further includes a step of prohibiting the execution of the calculation step when the steering wheel is turned back, whereby the calculation step is executed only when the direction of the operating pressure of power steering unit is in the equiphase with the operating direction of the steering wheel. Also, a four-wheel steering system includes has a rear steering actuator for steering the rear wheels so as to increase the steering angle of the rear wheels as the friction coefficient of the road surface calculated by the above-described method decreases.
