摘要: The present invention is drawn to solidifying adhesive formulations, methods of drug delivery, and solidified layers for dermal delivery of a drug for treating various skin infections, such as fungal, bacterial, and/or viral skin infections. The formulation can include anti-infective drug, solvent vehicle, and solidifying agent. The solvent vehicle can include a volatile solvent system including at least one volatile solvent, and a non-volatile solvent system including at least one non-volatile solvent. The non-volatile solvent system can facilitate the delivery of the drug at therapeutically effective rates for sustained periods of time. The non-volatile solvent system can also act to plasticize the solidifying agent. The formulation can have a viscosity suitable for application to a skin surface prior to evaporation of the volatile solvents system. When applied to the skin, the formulation can form a solidified layer after at least a portion of the volatile solvent system is evaporated.

摘要: A system and method for simulating a droplet on a substrate with a moving contact line. The height of the droplet above the substrate is represented as a height function. A height evolution equation represents how the height of a droplet with moving contact line varies over time. The height function at a first point in space and a first point in time is calculated. An extrapolated height value at the first point in time is based on the height function at the first point in space and the first point in time, and the contact line at the first point in time. The extrapolated height value is at a second point in space below the substrate. The height evolution equation is used to calculate the height function at a second point in time based upon the extrapolated height value at the first point in time.

摘要: A method of epitaxially growing a SiC layer on a single crystal SiC substrate is described. The method includes heating a single-crystal SiC substrate to a first temperature of at least 1400° C. in a chamber, introducing a carrier gas, a silicon containing gas and carbon containing gas into the chamber; and epitaxially growing a layer of SiC on a surface of the SiC substrate. The SiC substrate is heated to the first temperature at a rate of at least 30° C./minute. The surface of the SiC substrate is inclined at an angle of from 1° to 3° with respect to a basal plane of the substrate material.
