The present invention provides a method of transmitting broadcast signals. The method includes, pairing with a companion device; receiving a PDI (Profiles, Demographics, Interests) table via broadcast signals, wherein the PDI table includes plural PDI questions related to personal interests for interactive contents, wherein the PDI table includes an ID identifying the PDI table; obtaining an answer for at least one of the PDI questions; storing the obtained answer in the PDI table; and delivering the PDI table having the obtained answer to the paired companion device.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for transmitting and receiving a broadcast signal including signaling information. One embodiment of the present invention may provide a broadcast signal transmission method comprising the steps of: generating a media stream by encoding media data; generating signaling information signaling the media stream; multiplexing the generated media stream and the signaling information; and transmitting a broadcast signal including the multiplexed media stream and the signaling information. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the signaling information may include meta data on the media stream.

The present invention includes a receiving module configured to receive declarative contents and a first PDI (Profiles, Demographics, Interests) table including a first PDI question having a first question id for identifying the first PDI question and receive a second PDI table including a second PDI question having a second question id for identifying the second PDI question, an obtaining module configured to obtain an answer to the first PDI question, a storing module configured to store the obtained answer to the first PDI table, a fetching module configured to fetch the stored answer to the second PDI question by using the first question id and the second question id, wherein the first question id is equal to the second question id, wherein the storing module further stores the fetched answer to the second PDI table and a downloading module configured to download contents using the fetched answer, wherein the declarative contents fetches the stored answer by using an API (Application Programming Interface).

The method comprises generating an parameter table containing metadata about applications and interactive broadcast events targeted to the applications, dividing the parameter table into a plurality of parameter blocks, inserting each of the parameter blocks into each of a plurality of parameter table sections, generating a trigger which is a signaling element to identify signaling and establish timing of playout of the interactive broadcast events, inserting the trigger into a closed caption channel of the broadcast signal, transmitting the broadcast signal including the closed caption channel and a specific channel carrying the plurality of parameter table sections, wherein the trigger includes location information specifying a location of the parameter table in the broadcast signal.

An apparatus for processing digital service signals includes a receiving module configured to receive contents having watermarks, where the watermarks are inserted in audio or video frames of the contents, the watermarks carry channel information related to the contents, and content information having URL information for additional data of the contents. An extracting module is configured to extract the watermarks from the audio or video frames, and an obtaining module is configured to obtain the additional data over an IP(Internet Protocol) network using the extracted watermarks.
