A feed time is established. An exhaust parameter and/or necessary quantity of reducing agent is determined and a feed state of the reducing agent is defined. The reducing agent is treated if the feed state does not correspond to a stored state. The reducing agent feed to the exhaust system takes place last. The steps are repeated multiple times. This permits reducing agent to be fed into an exhaust system in a state suitable for the exhaust temperature, so that complete conversion of reducing agent takes place and selectively catalytic reduction is also ensured. This reduces the quantity of electrical energy necessary for converting reducing agent. A motor vehicle having the system is also provided.

A method for producing a metallic honeycomb body from metallic layers with channels through which an exhaust gas stream can flow, includes providing the honeycomb body with a coating. Such honeycomb bodies are used in exhaust gas systems of preferably mobile internal combustion engines as catalyst carrier bodies, filters, mixers and/or adsorbers. The coating is provided in a two-stage application and enables the production of exceptionally advantageous coated metallic honeycomb bodies, which are distinguished by a large coating surface and a low flow resistance. At the same time, an exceptionally large surface enlargement is provided in the honeycomb body while using a smaller amount of coating. A honeycomb body is also provided.

An evaporation unit for evaporating an aqueous solution including at least one reducing agent precursor, includes at least one evaporator cavity defined by a wall made of a material containing titanium. A heat-imparting layer disposed outside the evaporator cavity is made of a material having a thermal conductivity of at least 100 W/mK (Watts per meter and Kelvin) and is connected to the evaporator cavity in a heat-conducting manner. A heating layer disposed outside the heat-imparting layer is connected in a materially integral manner to the heat-imparting layer. The evaporator unit can be controlled in a highly dynamic manner, thereby enabling a sufficiently high amount of ammonia to be produced even during rapid load changes and consequently significant increases in the concentration of nitric oxide in the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine. A device and a motor vehicle having the evaporation unit are also provided.
