    摘要: A separating device separates liquid absorbent fibers from a material including the liquid absorbent fibers of an absorbent article and impurities. The separating device includes: a case; a partition member dividing a space in the case into a first space and a second space; an insertion port for inserting the material into the first space on an airflow; a rotation member in the first space for agitating and opening the material; and a discharge port for discharging the liquid absorbent fibers from inside the first space on an airflow. The partition member has through holes communicated with the first space and the second space. The second space includes a suction port that suctions air inside the second space, and the suction port sucks in the liquid absorbent fibers that are floating in the second space, the liquid absorbent fibers having passed through the through holes of the partition member.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for separating rubber components and metal components of tread portions of road vehicle tyres. Each tread portion comprises a tread side and a back side, and the method comprising the steps: forming a chain of tread portions by connecting a plurality of tread portions in a longitudinal direction, said tread portions being connected such that the tread side of each tread portion faces in the same direction, such that the chain of tread portions comprises a tread side and a back side; causing the tread side of at least a part of the chain of tread portions to contact a curved surface; and directing at least one high-pressure jet against the back side of the part of the chain of tread portions contacting the curved surface, to cause separation of the rubber components from the metal components. In a preferred arrangement the at least one high-pressure jet is at least one ultra high-pressure water jet. An apparatus is provided to perform the method.

    摘要: An apparatus for and method of recycling the edge portion of a chopped strand mat are disclosed. The method includes the steps of trimming an edge portion of the chopped strand mat, transporting the edge portion to a shredder assembly, and shredding the edge portion into individual strands or filaments. The separated strands are introduced with new chopped strands into the chopped strand mat forming process. The apparatus for recycling the edge portion of the mat includes a shredder assembly for separating the edge portion into individual strands. The shredder assembly includes two pairs of rollers that engage the trimmed edge portion. The first and second pairs of rollers are driven at first and second rotational speeds, respectively. Preferably, the second speed is greater than the first speed. The mat is pinched between each pair of rollers and is thereby placed under tension due to the different rotational speeds. The tension applied to the mat breaks the resin bond between the strands in the mat, separating the mat into individual strands on the downstream side of the second pair of rollers. The individual strands are then transported to a forming hood of the chopped strand mat forming apparatus and introduced into the chopped strand mat manufacturing process.

    摘要: The raw material in used tire carcasses is reclaimed by cutting the tire into quarter segments and freezing the segments with liquid nitrogen in a controlled environment freezing chamber. Rotary air locks pass material to and from the chamber. Steel and fiber materials are removed in a stripping chamber where the frozen rubber both broken into smaller chunks. A robot arm with magnets and hooked fingers removes the fiber and steel. The rubber chunks are then pressed through dies to reduce the size to a uniform rubber crumb. The press consists of multiple pointed fingers in registration with multiple sized holes in a screen type die. The rubber crumb is removed with a suction device and dried using heat from a closed loop nitrogen cycle on the way to collection containers.

    摘要: A method is described for the recycling of scrap vehicle tires using high pressure water jets. The use of high pressure water provides for the production of shredded rubber material in useful sizes and also provides for a separation of the shredded rubber from the cording and beading material of the tire. Recovery of steel cording material in a form suitable for reuse is one feature of the present invention. Also, the present invention avoids mechanical shredding entirely and the attendant wear on shredders from differing tire sizes and compositions.
