The apparatus includes a trailer having a flexible pre-cambered frame configured to absorb shock during transport and dissipate vibration during operation, and an inflexible sub-skid attached to the flexible frame. A high horsepower rating engine driven compressor is attached to the sub-skid while ancillary compression package components are attached to the flexible frame. An arrangement of break flanges is employed to permit relative motion between the compressor and the ancillary compression package components during transport and operation.

    摘要: The present invention provides a vacuum apparatus that includes a plurality of vacuum containers each having a gas inlet and an exhaust outlet, a gas supply system for introducing a desired gas into each of the vacuum containers through the gas inlet, and an exhaust system for keeping each of the vacuum containers at a low pressure. In this vacuum apparatus, the exhaust system includes a plurality of multistage vacuum pumps connected in series. The exhaust outlet pressure of the last-stage vacuum pump is substantially at atmospheric pressure. The last-stage vacuum pump is designed to exhaust gas from a plurality of vacuum pumps at previous stages.

The motor cooling system contains a three-way selector valve which connects either condenser selectively to the motor housing in response to the pressure in one condenser exceeding the pressure in the other condenser to provide a sufficient liquid refrigerant to the motor for cooling motor components under all operating conditions. The selector valve comprises a horizontally extending tubular portion having an annular seat at each end of the portion and a vertically extending tubular portion attached thereon. An axially movable ball is arranged in a horizontal portion to open selectively either seat and close selectively the opposite seat in response to the refrigerant pressure acting on the ball.

    摘要: A mixed phase pump for rapidly rotating cryogenic machinery is disclosed, preferably for installation to a superconducting generator rotor. The superconducting generator rotor includes an inner and outer rotor structure joined in a thermally insulated configuration not unlike that of a Dewar flask. The inner rotor contains a support cylinder for a refrigerant, typically helium, which when refrigerated to 3.5.degree. Kelvin at one half a standard atmosphere under the normal rapid rotation of the axially aligned support cylinder, classifies itself into a two-phase liquid gas system. The phases include an outer cylindrical helium pool and an axially inward gaseous core separated by a cylindrical gas-liquid interface. During normal operation of the rapidly revolving rotor, a pump removes the gas for recooling to a liquid state by receiving the gas in the vicinity of the axis of the rotor at an inlet. During abnormal operation including stator short-circuit and rapid rotational vibrational acceleration and deceleration of the rotor, the normal cylindrical interface between the cylindrical helium pool and the vapor core is destroyed. The vapor core in the vicinity of the pump inlet becomes multiphasic and the pump inlet can induct/ingest quantities of liquid. Accordingly, a pump with the liquid gas classification volume located outwardly from the gas inlet to the pump is disclosed. This liquid trap volume in the pump assures that the outward passage of gas only from the pump occurs. Stability of the two-phase gas-liquid system as well as the prevention of thermal stressing of torque-transmitting members of the high speed rotating rotor is prevented.

    摘要: A conversion system is disclosed for evaporating salt water, for example, so as to produce fresh water. A quantity of salt water (liquid phase) is contained to receive heat and thereby evaporate a portion of such water to provide a gaseous phase. Heat is extracted from the gaseous phase resulting in condensed fresh water. The system transfers heat energy to a working fluid to power a compressor structure in a refrigeration cycle, and supplying heat to the liquid phase. Compressor structures are disclosed in the forms of an ejector and a turbine compressor. As disclosed, the same working fluid is employed in the power cycle and the refrigeration cycle. Specific structures are disclosed for obtaining greater efficiency including an arrangement for staging individual systems.
