    Abstract: Electrical connectors for electrically connecting individual portable electrical energy storage cells making up a plurality of portable electrical energy storage cells that are part of a portable electrical energy storage device for powering portable devices such as vehicles or consumer electronics include bands of reduced cross-sectional area. The electrical connectors include conductive bands that promote reliable attachment between the electrical connector and portable electrical energy storage cells and provide the ability to electrically isolate failing or damaged cells.

    Abstract: A package for packing a bicycle is provided by the present invention. The package includes a base and a cover. The base has two positioning grooves, which are respectively formed at two opposite ends thereof. The base is enclosed by the cover such that a receiving space is formed by the base and the cover. Not only can the package of the present invention protect the bicycle during transportation process, the package can also serve as a bicycle stand, a display stand, or a workstation for installing or repairing the bicycle. As such, the package may provide additional and practical functions other than providing protection during transportation process.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a power assisted electric bicycle, a transmission device and a control method. The power assisted electric bicycle includes a body, a wheel, a torque sensor, a motor and a controller. The torque sensor is configured to output a plurality of torque signals corresponding to a pedal force. The controller is configured to: receive the torque signals from the torque sensor; compute and determine a first period according to a speed of the power assisted electric bicycle at a first time point; obtain a first maximum value of the torque signals in the first period that ends at the first time point; and, set a first torque output of the motor according to the first maximum value corresponding to the torque signal.

    Abstract: A connecting device includes a base, a locking member, linkage, and a detector. The locking member is rotatably disposed on the base and configured to rotate about an axis to a locked position along a first rotational direction and to an unlocked position along a second rotational direction opposite to the first rotational direction. The locking member has an engaging portion at a peripheral edge thereof. The linkage is rotatably disposed on the base and includes an abutting portion configured to abut against the peripheral edge. When the locking member is rotated to the locked position, the abutting portion is moved to and is engaged with the engaging portion accompanied with a rotation of the linkage. The detector is disposed on the base and configured to detect the rotation of the linkage.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to security mechanisms for electric motors and associated systems. For example, the present technology includes a powertrain assembly having (1) a motor having multiple sets of coils; (2) a drive circuitry electrically coupled to the multiple sets of coils; and (3) a security unit electrically coupled to the drive circuitry and the multiple sets of coils. The security unit is configured to short-circuit at least one set of the multiple sets of coils responsive to a signal from a controller. The signal indicates that the motor is, or has been, turned off.
