摘要: The embodiments of this invention relate generally to wireless telecommunication systems and, more particularly, to spread spectrum code division multiple access communication systems that employ a pilot-channel for path search and acquisition and for allocating fingers of a multifinger correlator, such as one found in a RAKE receiver. While the path search is an important part of the RAKE process, conventional path search methods require a large storage space for implementing the required correlation algorithms. One of the advantages of this invention is the noticeable reduction of the required storage space.

摘要: In one embodiment of the present invention, the efficiency of an encoder can be maintained while reducing the complexity of a decoder. In one embodiment, the invention includes a communication system in which a transmitter has a pipelined encoder that includes a controller that does not access a look-up table to encode a block of data bits into a binary codeword, and in which a receiver has a decoder to receive the binary codeword after transmission through a communications medium, and to correct an error in the binary codeword introduced during transmission without using a look-up table.

摘要: A fuel processor system contains an autothermal reactor (ATR) that produces a hydrogen-rich first gas stream containing carbon monoxide. Downstream of the ATR, a pressure swing adsorber produces a second hydrogen-rich gas stream containing 5 ppm carbon monoxide or more. Downstream of the PSA, there is a methanation reactor sized to reduce the CO level of the second stream below 5 ppm. A method of operating of proton exchange membrane fuel cell stack involves cooling the methanator output and feeding it into the stack as an anode fuel.

摘要: An optical theta-modulation based analog-to-digital converter having an acousto-optic deflector and an analog-to-digital conversion mask, for fast and flexible analog-to-digital conversion. The acousto-optic deflector deflects an optical beam at an angle corresponding to an input voltage signal having an analog value. The analog-to-digital conversion mask converts the deflected optical beam into N masked optical signals which each corresponds to a respective bit of a digital value representing the analog value of the input signal. Each optical signal is detected by a photodetector and converted into an output voltage signal by a comparator.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for intelligently detecting pipeline small leaks and thefts. In the Energy Flow Line Method, measured changes in flow data at both ends of the pipeline are monitored and analyzed to detect a leak or a theft. The energy wave front speed and the unsteady flow mathematical model of the subject pipeline is used to calculate leak details. In the Filtered Pressure Waves Method, the measured pressure data at both ends of the pipeline is monitored and analyzed. Pressure waves that do not originate at the ends of the pipeline are selected. Two travelling time windows are applied to those candidates, and the candidates are processed within each window. Leaks, thefts and their details are obtained if the detected leak locations meet the criteria. The Enhanced Filtered Pressure Waves Method, provides the leaked amount and verifies the leak and the leak location to avoid false alarms. An index formed with measured parameters is monitored and the unsteady flow model of the subject pipeline is utilized.
