摘要: Upstream requests such a bandwidth requests, are processed by CMTS out of order on a priority basis to reduce latency in responding to the request. Specifically, a cable modem termination system (CMTS) is connected to a plurality of cable modems by a cable plant. The CMTS has a burst receiver adapted to be connected to the cable plant to process upstream data packet units and bandwidth requests transmitted by the cable modems. Each packet includes a header that uniquely distinguishes the bandwidth requests from other data types. Packet data units are arranged in a first memory queue. Bandwidth requests are arranged in a second memory queue. The headers of the packets processed by the burst receiver are inspected as they arrive at the CMTS to determine if the packets are packet data units or bandwidth requests. Packet data units are routed to the first memory queue. Bandwidth requests are routed to the second memory queue. Bandwidth allocation MAP messages are generated from the bandwidth requests stored in the second queue and transmitted downstream to the cable modems. The packet data units stored in the first queue are coupled to a data output for further distribution.

摘要: An apparatus for reducing operating costs, maintenance costs and emissions in a fluid injection system, which includes a valve assembly adapted to be connected to a fluid injection point located on a well. The valve assembly has an electronic controller, a flow passage, a plurality of solenoid valves positioned in the flow passage, and a metering chamber positioned in the flow passage that is adapted to receive and discharge fluid flowing through the flow passage into the injection point. The electronic controller supplies signals to selectively open and close each of the plurality of solenoid valves to control the flow of the fluid along the flow passage into the metering chamber and to control the discharge of the fluid from the metering chamber along the flow passage into the injection point.

摘要: A routing device includes a routing application program interface that routing programs utilize to route data packets to other devices in a network. To that end, the routing device includes a processor for executing a routing program, a plurality of functional modules that control the operation of the routing device and forward data packets to the other network devices as specified by the routing program, and the routing application program interface operatively coupled with the processor. The routing program utilizes a set of specified commands associated with the routing application program interface for interacting with the plurality of functional modules through the routing application program interface. The routing program specifies a data packet routing protocol, while the functional modules comprise at least one of hardware and software.

摘要: A package for a multiple-component composition includes a first sheet and a second sheet connected to the first sheet, and at least one of the sheets is made of a flexible material. At least two storage chambers and a mixing chamber are located between the sheets and interconnected by passageways. In certain embodiments, the mixing chamber is located between the passageways. In some embodiments, the passageways are spaced from each other. Compressing the storage chamber directs components in the respective chambers into the mixing chamber for subsequent dispensing as needed. Optionally, an actuator is provided and has a channel for receiving the package. As the package moves through the channel, the storage chambers are compressed and the components in the storage chamber are directed to the mixing chamber.

摘要: This invention is directed to loose fill packing material comprising clean, elongated strips of paper formed from sheets of corrugated cardboard by an apparatus which comprises a shredder device operative to convert the sheets of corrugated cardboard into paper strips for discharge onto a perforated conveyor movable between a loading position at the shredder device and a discharge position where the paper strips are emptied into a collection hopper. A suction housing is mounted at the outlet of the shredder device in position to substantially enclose the conveyor so that a suction can be drawn over the paper strips to remove dirt, dust and other foreign materials therefrom after which the cleaned paper strips are transmitted by the conveyor to an angled sifter plate having a plurality of openings which are sized to allow undesired, short strips of paper to pass therethrough. A spraying device is provided to deposit a liquid material onto the paper strips having microbicidal, sanitizing, insect repellant, disinfectant and deodorizing properties.

摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for warning when the amplitude of conversations exceeds certain values. The apparatus includes a microphone and related circuitry which continuously produce a signal related to the amplitude of the conversation while the apparatus is operational. A comparator continuously compares the signal to a pre-set first value and produces an output as long as the signal indicates that the conversation exceeds a certain amplitude. There is a discriminator responsive to the comparator output which provides a discriminator output when the duration of the comparator output exceeds a pre-determined value. The discriminator is connected to an alarm which produces a warning signal when the discriminator provides the discriminator output. There may also be a second comparator which produces a visual signal when the amplitude of the conversation is above an amplitude which may be below the amplitude which activates the alarm.

摘要: A centralized resource distribution is described where the decision portion of partitioning data among cluster nodes is made centralized while the actual mechanics to implement the partitioning remain a distributed algorithm. A central distribution coordinator is used to create an extensible central strategy that controls how the data will be partitioned across the cluster. The work to implement this strategy is performed by all of the members individually and asynchronously, in accordance with a distributed algorithm. The central strategy can be communicated to all cluster members and each member can perform the partitioning as it relates to itself. For example, in accordance with the distributed algorithm, one node may decide that it needs to obtain a particular partition in light of the central strategy and carry out the necessary steps to obtain that data, while other nodes may be asynchronously performing other individual partition transfers relevant to those particular nodes.

摘要: In accordance with the invention, a method, system and apparatus for saving power consumed by a station in an ad hoc wireless network are presented. The method comprises transmitting or receiving a signal by a station in the ad hoc wireless network during a beacon interval. The station enters a power saving doze state immediately following the transmission or reception of the signal and prior to the end of the beacon interval. Additionally or alternatively, the station may enter power saving doze state following a timed period, according to a counter, or according to a periodic pattern.
