Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive information indicating whether hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback is disabled for one or more HARQ processes. The UE may receive a downlink communication. The downlink communication may include a HARQ process identifier that indicates a HARQ process to be used for the downlink communication. The UE may selectively provide HARQ feedback for the downlink communication based at least in part on the HARQ identifier and information indicating whether HARQ feedback is disabled for the HARQ process. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some networks, a user equipment (UE) may switch between serving beams of a transmitting device that are associated with different bandwidth parts of a radio frequency spectrum. To improve aspects of beam measurement and selection, a UE may be configured to support various techniques for beam measurement according to the different bandwidth parts. For example, a UE may receive a beam measurement configuration associated with one or more beams, and may monitor for reference signals associated with the beams using the different bandwidth parts. The UE may determine a channel quality of one or more of the beams based on the monitoring, and transmit a beam measurement report to the network in accordance with the beam measurement configuration. In some examples, such a report may be transmitted based on the UE determining that an event condition is satisfied.

Abstract: A user equipment may be configured to implement a procedure for implementing a procedure for updating cell-specific parameters used by a UE in non-terrestrial networks (NTN). Further, the UE may enter a radio resource configuration (RRC) connected mode based upon receipt of the system information, and transmit an acquisition indication of receipt of the system information, the acquisition indication identifying an instance within the modification period of receipt of the system information.

The cell type may be a LEO cell type, a geostationary Earth orbit (GEO) cell type, a moving cell type, a fixed cell type, a temporarily fixed LEO cell type, or a permanently fixed LEO cell type. The UE completes selection or reselection of the target cell or completes the connectivity with the target cell, based on the cell type.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a communication session with a network via a non-terrestrial network (NTN) entity. The UE may receive control signaling identifying one or more measurement trigger criteria for measurements of NTN cells. The UE may receive a reference signal from one or more of the NTN cells. The UE may transmit a message that indicates a measurement of the reference signal associated with at least one of the NTN cells. The UE may perform the measurement of the reference signal in response to one or both of a change in received power associated with the NTN entity satisfying a signal power threshold or at least one of the measurement trigger criteria being satisfied. The described techniques may enable the UE to perform NTN cell measurements with greater efficiency and reduced power consumption, among other benefits.

A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling identifying a configuration of a set of uplink slots for the UE to transmit uplink reference signals to a satellite. The UE may transmit, to the satellite, a set of uplink reference signals on the set of uplink slots according to the configuration. The set of uplink reference signals may include sounding reference signals (SRSs), positioning references signals (PRSs), or both. In some implementations, the UE may transmit the set of uplink reference signals in accordance with one or more timing advance values, where the timing advance values are indicated to the satellite by the UE, pre-configured by the satellite, or both. The UE may then, from a network node, an indication of a position of the UE based on the set of uplink reference signals.

Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to determining a new multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) configuration for a MBMS that is backward compatible with a legacy MBMS configurations. A base station determines a MBMS configuration. The MBMS configuration includes at least one non-optional field that indicates compatibility with a first user equipment (UE) having a first MBMS capability or compatibility with a second UE having a second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration also includes a sub-carrier spacing indication for a MBMS corresponding to the first MBMS capability or the second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration is broadcasted to the first UE and the second UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A serving base station or a serving satellite may transmit a timing configuration to the UE based on a reference unit, such as a location at a beam center for a respective satellite, a threshold distance relative to the beam center for the respective satellite, a reference time, or any combination thereof. In some cases, the UE may monitor for one or more SSBs from the neighboring satellites according to the timing configuration and a respective propagation delay between the UE and each of the neighboring satellites. The UE may measure the SSBs according to the measurement gap and measurement window in the timing configuration. In some examples, the UE may perform a cell handover procedure or a cell reselection procedure based on measuring the SSBs.
