Abstract:
This invention has as its object to reduce network traffic when a remote copy process is done using network devices. To achieve this object, a computer (13) acquires stub drivers (610, 612) from image input/output devices (12-1, 12-2) (S1601, S1602), and sends the stub driver (610) to the image input/output device (12-1) (S1605). The image input/output device (12-1) drives the image input/output device (12-2) by executing the received printer stub driver (610), sends scanned data, and makes the image input/output device (12-2) print the data.
Abstract:
A data transmission system where an image providing device and a printer are directly connected by a 1394 serial bus, a command is sent from the image providing device to the printer, then a response to the command is returned from the printer to the image providing device. Image data is sent from the image providing device to the printer based on information included in the response. The printer converts the image data outputted from the image providing device into print data. Thus, printing can be performed without a host computer by directly connecting the image providing device and the printer by the 1394 serial bus or the like.
Abstract:
At the PC there are formed control commands not only for operating the fax machine, but at the same time for the establishment of outgoing voice links of the telephone terminal connected to the fax machine.
Abstract:
A system and method for obtaining photographic products and/or services and for the sharing of digital images without the need of a computer. In particular a cable set top box and cable communication network is used for communication with third parties, including image service providers.
Abstract:
A digital camera includes a connector for connecting another digital camera and an interface for exchanging data between the digital camera and another digital camera. When another digital camera is connected to the connector, another digital camera is be controlled by a controller via the interface.
Abstract:
There is provided a terminal device with which a shared unit shared with the other terminal device on a network is connected, characterized in that the terminal device comprises a transmitting/receiving section for receiving information sent from the other terminal device with respect to the shared unit, and a control section for allowing the other terminal device a right to use the shared unit based on the information sent from the other terminal device and received by the transmitting/receiving section, and for releasing a state having the right to use the shared unit, if the information sent from the other terminal device is indicative of a given instruction.
Abstract:
A communication device for interconnecting a digital camera to a communication network for downloading data to a remote computer. The device has a network communication port for establishing communication with a network via a pre-defined protocol and communication mode, and has a camera communication port such as a serial, parallel, SCSI, USB or Irda-port that imitates the back end application of a PC, for connection to a digital camera for sending and receiving data to and from the camera. The camera communication port is also used for input of programming and setup data to the communication device from a PC. The device can be programmed to operate on the data directly, such as in the case of data for storage or operational direction, and/or direct the data to the camera. The device may also have a Smart card socket into which a user can insert a card to input data, such as user and camera I.D., user authorization, image marking, camera operational parameters, remote computer/destination address, etc. The device can be programmed to perform encryption, authentication, watermarking and fingerprinting procedures, as well as structuring the data for transmission over a particular network, and to automatically perform operations, such as at specific times or in response to data input.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus which can execute an image process which is desired by a client while minimizing a connection time and an interactive communication between the client and the image processing apparatus is provided. To accomplish the above object, according to the invention, there is provided an image processing apparatus for receiving an agent including an operation train via a network and allowing an image processing unit to execute image processes. This apparatus is constructed by: control means for controlling the image processing unit; interpreting means for interpreting the operation train of the agent; and message output means for outputting a message to the control means in response to the operation train interpreted by the interpreting means.
Abstract:
The camera reads identification information of the user, which is contained in an identification card, through a card reading part. The camera connects automatically to a server designated in accordance with the read identification information through a communication interface. Then, the camera transmits and stores the data of recorded images to the designated server. The camera retrieves the image data stored in the server, and reproduces and displays the image on an image display at the back of the camera. A plurality of cameras in which the same user's identification information is set can be controlled altogether in the image-recording and reproduction by one camera. One camera in which the identification information of a plurality of user's is set can distribute the recorded image data to the servers of the users simultaneously.
Abstract:
An electronic imaging system and method are provided that include an image capturing component, such as a digital camera, an image rendering component, such as a printer, digital projector, video screen, etc., each of which requires an intelligence circuit for operation, and an intelligence module detachably connectable to either of the imaging components for providing the required control circuit. The intelligence module includes a microprocessor and memory, and each of the image capturing and rendering components of the system includes a memory for storing operating instructions. The intelligence module downloads the operating instructions of the particular imaging component it is connected to in order to operate the same. The use of a single control module to operate a broad spectrum of digital imaging components advantageously simplifies the circuitry of the components, reduces manufacturing costs, and enhances reliability by minimizing processing steps and circuit interfaces.
