    Abstract: The present invention is concerned with the use of a PEG-emulsifier, optionally in combination with hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof for suppressing discoloration in topical compositions comprising vitamin B6 or a derivative thereof. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for reducing discoloration of topical compositions containing vitamin B6 or a derivative thereof, comprising preparing a topical composition comprising vitamin B6, a PEG-emulsifiers and optionally hyaluronic acid and a cosmetically acceptable carrier.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a recombinant cell, preferably a yeast cell comprising: a) one or more heterologous genes encoding a glycerol dehydrogenase activity; b) one or more genes encoding a dihydroxyacetone kinase (E.C. 2.7.1.28 and/or E.C. 2.7.1.29); c) one or more heterologous genes encoding a ribulose-1,5-biphosphate carboxylase oxygenase (EC 4.1.1.39, RuBisCO); and d) one or more heterologous genes encoding a phosphoribulokinase (EC 2.7.1.19, PRK); and optionally e) one or more heterologous genes encoding for a glycerol transporter, wherein the recombinant yeast comprises overexpression of one or more PPP-genes. This cell can be used for the production of ethanol and advantageously produces little or no glycerol.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions for coating an optical fiber containing an optional reactive monomer and/or oligomer, a self-healing component with self-healing moieties, an initiator component, and optionally an additive component. The self-healing component preferably includes polymerizable moieties. Such compositions contain greater than 30% by weight of the self-healing component, and/or greater than 0.015 equivalents of self-healing moieties per 100 g of the composition. Also disclosed herein are coated optical fibers having a glass fiber, at least one coating layer and an optional ink layer, which are configured to possess self-healing properties and/or stress relaxation behavior. Further disclosed are methods for coating self-healing optical fibers, and optical fiber cables comprising a one or more self-healing coated optical fibers.
