    摘要: A system for use during a medical or surgical procedure on a body. The system generates a display representing the position of two or more body elements during the procedure based on a reference image data set generated by a scanner. The system produces a reference image of a body elements, discriminates the body elements in the images and creates an image data set representing the images of the body elements. The system produces a density image of the body element. The system modifies the image data set according to the density image of the body element during the procedure, generates a displaced image data set representing the position and geometry of the body element during the procedure, and compares the density image of the body element during the procedure to the reference image of the body element. The system also includes a display utilizing the displaced image data set generated by the processor to illustrate the position and geometry of the body element during the procedure. Methods relating to the system are also disclosed.

    摘要: A medical imaging system is provided that detects any change in relative position between the patient and the imaging device and corrects the image data for any motion that occurs. The medical imaging system includes: an imaging device for capturing two or more image data sets representative of a patient; a tracking subsystem for capturing patient position data that is indicative of the position of the patient and device position data that is indicative of the position of the imaging device; an image subtraction subsystem for performing a digital subtraction operation between at least two image data sets; and a motion correction subsystem configured to detect a change in the relative position between the patient and the imaging device and, upon detecting a change in the relative position, compensate in at least one of the first image data set and the second image data set for the change in relative position prior to performing the digital subtraction operation.

The first and second portions are movable relative to one another from a first configuration for insertion that minimizes trauma to skin and tissue to an enlarged configuration after insertion to further retract skin and tissue in a minimally invasive manner. Instruments are engageable to the first and second portions and operable to move the first and second portions relative to one another.

    摘要: A device having an adjustable height and angle to space vertebral members. The device includes a plurality of links that extend between a plate and a deployer. A first section of the deployer is moved to change the angle of the plurality of links and expand the height of the spacer. A second section of the deployer is moved to change the angle of the plate relative to the centerline. A method of using the spacer is also disclosed and includes positioning the spacer while in the closed orientation between the vertebral members. The spacer is then expanded to a second height. The angle of the spacer is than adjusted as necessary to space the vertebral members.

    摘要: A suction regulator valve adapted to be installed between a suction pump or other vacuum source and a suction tube or catheter, the valve comprising a hollow valve body having an outer surface with a generally transverse or circumferential opening therethrough, and a valve member slidably mounted on the valve body for generally transverse or circumferential movement thereon. The valve member is movable between an open position wherein the opening is uncovered and a closed position wherein the valve member covers and closes the opening. The valve member is positioned for engagement by the thumb or other finger of a user to enable the movement of the valve member to cover or uncover all or a portion of the opening. The suction regulator valve may be a separate member, may have a handle portion or may be formed integrally with a suction wand or other suction device.
