摘要: An illuminating device capable of being produced at low costs and irradiating rays of light uniformly to a liquid crystal panel. The illuminating device has a plurality of LED packages each having LED's and a lens, the LED packages being congregated on a plane in a large area. Each of the LED packages includes at least four LED's corresponding to LED's for emitting at least red, green and blue, and at least two of the LED's in each LED package are positioned symmetrically to the center of the lens and emit the same color.

摘要: A stream encryption device generates a first pseudo random number sequence from key information, generates a second pseudo random number sequence according to clock control performed according to the first pseudo random number sequence, and subjects it to a nonlinear function calculation, thereby generating a key stream. The stream encryption device performs XOR operation with a plain text so as to create an encrypted text. The stream encryption device performs an encryption process in units of words by using a clock controller. It includes: a first pseudo random number generation means to generate a first pseudo random number sequence from key information; a second pseudo random number generation means to generate a second pseudo random number sequence based on clock control performed according to the first pseudo random number sequence; and, a keystream generation means to generate a keystream by applying a nonlinear function calculation to the second pseudo random number sequence.

摘要: A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel with a backlight module including a light-emitting diode (LED)-based illumination device is disclosed. The illumination device includes more than one LED of the waveguide type for use as a light source of the backlight. The LCD panel includes a pair of substrates, a liquid crystal (LC) layer interposed between these substrates, and a polarization plate. Output light of the LED is linearly polarized in advance. A waveguide is arranged for giving off polarized light components from the LED only in a chosen direction to thereby permit incidence in parallel with a polarized light transmission direction of the LCD polarizer plate. The LED is amounted and arranged so that the polarized light transmission direction of the polarizer plate is the same as the polarization direction through an optical system associated therewith.

摘要: A communication system and a security assurance device are proposed, which are capable of assuring that a target party for communication is implementing security countermeasures. A server 3 transmits information 104 necessary for AC issuance to a security assurance authority 2. The security assurance authority 2 verifies the security of the server 3 during communication based upon this information necessary for AC issuance 104. And, when the security of the server 3 during communication is confirmed, the security assurance authority 2 issues an AC 105 which proves the security of the server 3 during communication, and transmits it to the server 3. Upon receipt of this AC 105, the server 3 transmits the AC 105 to a client 4, according to a connection request from the client 4. And, upon receipt of this AC 105, the client 4 verifies the security during communication of the server 3, based upon the AC 105.

To increase a divergence angle of light radiation, the portion of the high refractive index transparent material member which covers an upper surface of the light-emitting diode is structured so as to satisfy a relation H>(L/2)/tan { sin−1(n1/n2)}, where H represents a thickness of the high refractive index transparent material member measured at the central portion of the upper surface of the light-emitting diode, L represents the length of one side of the upper surface of the light-emitting diode, n1 represents the refractive index of the high refractive index transparent material member and n2 represents the refractive index of the low refractive index transparent material member.

摘要: Conventional light-emitting elements, in particular an organic electroluminescence devices, involve problems resulting from a low light extraction efficiency of 20% or less, because of limitations on light emission set by total reflection angle on an organic layer or transparent electrode as the component, and are demanded to have improved luminance and other optical characteristics which depend on viewing angle. The present invention provides an organic electroluminescence device which can improve a light extraction efficiency and thereby reduce operational current and power consumption by incorporating a laminate of optical thin films of low refractive index and having pores whose size is controlled at a level equivalent to or shorter than visible wavelengths, because the light components totally reflected to become wave-guided or reflected light in a common device can be extracted as light scattered by the pores.

摘要: A device for purifying the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The device includes a particulate filter arranged in the exhaust system, which carries a catalyst for absorbing and reducing NOx. The catalyst absorbs NOx when the air-fuel ratio in the surrounding atmosphere thereof is lean and releases the absorbed NOx to purify NOx by reduction when the air-fuel ratio is stoichiometric or rich. The device further includes a catalytic apparatus for purifying NOx arranged in the exhaust system upstream of the particulate filter, which has an oxidation function.
