摘要： The invention relates to a smoke-permeable, moisture-resistant, tubular, biaxially oriented, preferably also heat set food casing containing a mixture of at least one aliphatic (co)polyamide and at least one water-soluble synthetic polymer, and having a water vapor transmission rate of between 40 and 200 g/m2·d. The water-soluble polymer is preferably a polyvinyl alcohol. Optionally, the mixture also contains additives which influence the optics, haptics, moisture storage capacity and peeling behavior. The casing is preferably tubular and seamless and is produced by extrusion of a corresponding thermoplastic mixture. The inventive casing is preferably used as an artifical sausage casing, especially for smokeable scalded-emulsion sausages.

Data signals modulated in accordance with one of at least two different modulation schemes are received. The front end of the device has an analog and a digital part, and the digital front end includes a first and a second signal processing branch for processing received data signals modulated in accordance with different modulation schemes. The first and second processing branches have low-IF (Intermediate Frequency) topologies. There is further provided a corresponding integrated circuit chip and a method of processing received data signals.

Two of the power paths are mechanical and one of the power paths is electrical. The electric motor generators provide continuously variable speed ratios; manipulation of the power paths at the nodes provides a plurality of continuously variable operating modes for increased efficiency and smaller motor size. The transmission also provides an equal forward/reverse system with an input split.

摘要： A multi-layer gate stack structure of a field-effect transistor device is fabricated by providing a gate electrode layer stack with a polysilicon layer, a transition metal interface layer, a nitride barrier layer and then a metal layer on a gate dielectric, wherein the transition metal is titanium, tantalum or cobalt. Patterning the gate electrode layer stack comprises a step of patterning the metal layer and the barrier layer with an etch stop on the surface of the interface layer. Exposed portions of the interface layer are removed and the remaining portions are pulled back from the sidewalls of the gate stack structure leaving divots extending along the sidewalls of the gate stack structure between the barrier layer and the polysilicon layer. A nitride liner encapsulating the metal layer, the barrier layer and the interface layer fills the divots left by the pulled-back interface layer. The nitride liner is opened before the polysilicon layer is patterned. As the requirement for an overetch into the polysilicon layer during the etch of the metal layer, the barrier layer and the interface layer is omitted, the height of the polysilicon layer can be reduced. The aspect ration of the gate stack structure is improved, the feasibility of pattern and fill processes enhanced and the range of an angle under which implants can be performed is extended.

摘要： A compound-split electrically variable transmission has two electrical power units, two planetary gearsets, a prime mover, and two selectively engageable torque-transmitting mechanisms. The torque-transmitting mechanisms are selectively engaged to provide a reverse and first range and a second range of operation, wherein the reverse and first range is an input-split range of operation and the second range is a compound-split range of operation. The torque-transmitting mechanisms are simultaneously engaged at an interchange point between the first and second ranges of operation. This interchange point is a synchronous speed interchange point, such that the torque-transmitting mechanisms are engaged and disengaged without slipping forces being transmitted.

The calibration structures contain pre-programmed flaws with predetermined sizes that are positioned on the photomask so that they do not negatively influence the functionality of the photomask. These calibration structures are then co-measured in a normal inspection, and the measured results can be subsequently normed to the detection of the calibration structures.

摘要： A two-mode, compound-split, electro-mechanical transmission utilizes an input member for receiving power from an engine, and an output member for delivering power from the transmission. First and second motor/generators are operatively connected to an energy storage device through a control for interchanging electrical power among the storage device, the first motor/generator and the second motor/generator. The transmission employs three planetary gear sets. Each planetary gear arrangement utilizes first, second and third gear members. At least one of the gear members in the first or second planetary gear sets is connected to the first motor/generator. Another gear member in the second and third planetary gear arrangement is connected to the second motor/generator. One of the gear members of the first or second planetary gear sets is continuously connected to one of the gear members in the third planetary gear set. Another gear member of the first or second planetary gear set is operatively connected to the input member, and one gear member of the third planetary gear set is selectively connected to ground. A lock-up clutch selectively locks two of the planetary gear sets in a 1:1 ratio.
