摘要: A dolly is provided for facilitating removal and installation of brake drums on vehicles. The dolly includes a frame having a cradle portion for supporting a brake drum. Wheels are rotatably mounted on the frame for moving the frame over a support surface into position beneath a brake drum. A handle projects from the frame for manually manipulating the frame into and out of position relative to the brake drum. An elevating linkage is provided for raising and lowering the frame relative to the wheels to lift and lower the brake drum relative to the vehicle.

摘要: A method of manufacturing brake drums or the like and apparatus therefor that minimizes scrap rates by improving as-manufactured balance. In accordance with the disclosed method, the casting rim of the brake drum is located in a press by centering the drum relative to its outer surface. Locating holes are then accurately formed in the drum center by the press prior to machining of the drum inner surface. The subsequent machining operation on the drum inner surface is accomplished by locating the drum accurately via the locating holes formed in the press operation.

摘要: A method of making a composite brake drum having an axially perforated sintered metal drum ring and a stamped steel mounting back attached to one end of the drum ring. The drum ring is compacted from ferrous powder in an annular cavity of a compacting press while a plurality of tapered core pins are disposed in circumferentially spaced relation in and extending axially through the cavity. The compact is stripped from the cavity and pins by movement of the compacting punches relative thereto. The compact is sintered to complete the drum ring and thereafter a stamped steel back is secured to the ring by arc welding a continuous welded seam between the ring and back.

摘要: A friction material composition that does not contain copper, which has a high environmental load, or containing copper in such small amount as to be not more than 0.5 mass % and that enables decrease in brake vibration in braking at high temperatures when used in a friction material such that for an automobile disc brake pad, is provided. A friction material obtained by molding the friction material composition is also provided. The friction material composition contains a binder, an organic filler, an inorganic filler, and a fibrous base material, and the friction material composition contains no copper as an element or contains not more than 0.5 mass % of copper, and also contains 2 to 5 mass % of steel fibers that have fiber lengths of 2500 μm or less.

The air entangling module may comprise an air entangling head coupled to an outer support and an inner support, wherein the air entangling head is configured to apply a jet of air toward the bedplate at an entangling zone. The air entangling head may have freedom of motion along the outer support and the inner support, and may be configured to rest on top of a fibrous layer.

摘要: A carbon ceramic brake disc according to the present invention includes: a support body having cooling channels at the center portion; and friction layers directly attached to the top and the bottom of the support body without a bonding layer and having components different from the components of the support body, in which the support body is composed of a plurality of layers having components similar to the friction layers, gradually toward the friction layers from the cooling channels as the center.Accordingly, the support body can perform thermomechanical shock absorbing that is an original function and the friction layers and the support body can be prevented from separating while the carbon ceramic brake disc is manufactured.
