    摘要: A reconfigurable holographic antenna includes a metamaterial layer and a waveguide with at least one ridge. The metamaterial layer includes an array of tunable slots configurable to form holographic diffraction patterns. A reactance of each tunable slot in the array of tunable slots is individually tunable. The at least one ridge influences coupling between tunable slots in the array of tunable slots. The holographic diffraction patterns formed by the array of tunable slots generate a desired antenna wave in response to a received feed wave.

    摘要: This application is directed to an apparatus for creating microwave radiation patterns for an object detection system. The apparatus includes a waveguide conduit having first slots at one side of the conduit and corresponding second slots at an opposite side of the conduit. The waveguide conduit is coupled to a microwave source for transmitting microwaves from the microwave source through the plurality of first slots. A plunger is moveably positioned in the waveguide conduit from one end thereof. The plunger allows the waveguide conduit to be tuned to generally optimize the power of the microwaves exiting the first slots. Secondary plungers are each fitted in one of the second slots to independently tune or detune microwave emittance through a corresponding first slot.

    摘要: A modular feed network is provided with a segment base provided with a feed aperture, a corner cavity at each corner and a tap cavity at a mid-section of each of two opposite sides. A segment top is provided with a plurality of output ports. The segment top is dimensioned to seat upon the segment base to form a segment pair. the segment base provided with a plurality of waveguides between cavities of the segment base. The modular feed network is configurable via a range of feed, bypass and/or power divider taps seated in the apertures and/or cavities to form a waveguide network of varied numbers of output ports by routing across one or more of the segment tops. For example, the modular feed network may comprise 1, 4 or 16 of the segment bases retained side to side.

One of the feed pins has a second distance of approximately (λg*(1+2α)/4) from the third metal plane. “λg” is a wavelength in the waveguide and “α” is an integer which is equal or larger than “0”. Each of the feed pins has a third distance of approximately (a/2) from the first or second wall. “a” is length of the waveguide along the third metal wall.

    摘要: A long range millimeter wave imaging radar system. Preferred embodiments are positioned to detect foreign object debris objects on surface of the runway, taxiways and other areas of interest. The system includes electronics adapted to produce millimeter wave radiation scanned over a frequency range of a few gigahertz. The scanned millimeter wave radiation is broadcast through a frequency scanned antenna to produce a narrow scanned transmit beam in a first scanned direction (such as the vertical direction) defining a narrow, approximately one dimensional, electronically scanned field of view corresponding to the scanned millimeter wave frequencies. The antenna is mechanically pivoted or scanned in a second scanned direction perpendicular to the first scanned direction so as to define a two-dimensional field of view.
