    Abstract: A display device includes a TFT substrate including an overlap portion overlapping the color filter substrate and a non-overlap portion which does not overlap the color filter substrate; a color filter substrate; a source driver; and a height adjusting body. A color filter surface of the color filter substrate is opposite a surface facing a first major surface of the TFT substrate at a first distance. The source driver is disposed on the non-overlap portion and has a source driver surface that is opposite a surface facing the first major surface and disposed a second distance from the first major surface, which is less than the first distance. The height adjusting body is disposed on the non-overlap portion and has a height adjusting body surface opposite a surface facing the first major surface disposed a third distance from the first major surface, which is greater than the second distance.

    Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display device, including: a plurality of scanning connection lines formed on at least one side of edges of the image display region, the plurality of scanning connection lines connecting together a scanning signal drive circuit and a plurality of scanning signal lines; a selection circuit formed so as to be interposed between the plurality of scanning connection lines and the plurality of scanning signal lines, the selection circuit being configured to selectively short-circuit one of a plurality of the scanning signal lines to one of the plurality of scanning connection lines based on a selection signal; and a selection signal line connected to the selection circuit, the selection signal line transmitting the selection signal to the selection circuit.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a display device is provided. The display device includes a display region divided into a first display region and a second display region by a border region extending in the second direction, a plurality of data lines including a plurality of first data lines arranged in the first display region, and a plurality of second data lines arranged in the second display region. Each of the plurality of first data lines and each of the plurality of second data lines are electrically isolated from each other. The method includes steps of forming a plurality of conductive lines on a substrate extending from a top side to a bottom side of the display region in the first direction, and separating the plurality of conductive lines into the plurality of first data lines and the plurality of second data lines.

    Abstract: A display panel has a variant external shape. The display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate disposed opposite to the first substrate, liquid crystal sealed between the first substrate and the second substrate, a seal made of a photosetting material, the seal being provided outside a display region, the seal being used to seal the liquid crystal by bonding the first substrate and the second substrate together, and a metallic pattern provided in the first substrate or the second substrate, including a plurality of slits through which light with which the seal is irradiated passes. The plurality of slits are formed along the external shape of the display panel in at least a portion corresponding to a variant portion of the display panel.

    Abstract: An electrostatic capacitive coupling type touch panel including an Input region having four sides, a peripheral region around the input region, terminals formed in the peripheral region along a first side of the input region, wirings formed in the peripheral region along second, third and fourth sides of the input region, and the input region having X and Y electrodes crossing. The wirings are connected between corresponding X or Y electrodes and wiring terminals plurality of terminals. A dummy wiring, which is not connected to any of the X electrodes or Y electrodes, is provided outside the wiring formed in a farthest position from the input region, and the dummy wiring extends through the peripheral region along the second, third and fourth sides of the input region, and electrically connects to at least one dummy wiring terminal.
