One innovative aspect of the present disclosure includes a method of communicating in a wireless network. The wireless network includes an access point and a relay. The method includes indicating to a client, at the relay, a network address of the access point. The method further includes receiving an association request, from the client, addressed to the access point. The method further includes forwarding the association request to the access point.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a processor configured to identify at least one interface (e.g., AP interface) configured to support link aggregation, identify one or more groups of the at least one interface, wherein all interfaces of a respective group are configured to be aggregated together, identify supported link aggregation types per group, select one of the groups to support communication via link aggregation, select at least one interface of the selected group, and send information to the selected at least one interface to initialize link aggregation.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for aggregating multi-user media access control protocol data units (MPDU) in a wireless network are provided. One aspect of this disclosure provides a method of wireless communication. The method includes generating, by an apparatus, an aggregated media access control protocol data unit (A-MPDU) frame comprising a plurality of A-MPDU sub-frames, wherein at least one sub-frame of the plurality of A-MPDU sub-frames is addressed to at least a first device and at least one other sub-frame of the plurality of A-MPDU sub-frames is addressed to at least a second device. The method comprises inserting an indication that the A-MPDU frame is addressed to at least the first and second devices into a physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) field.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be an intermediate gateway. The intermediate gateway may receive a first Internet protocol (IP) packet of a first data flow for transmission to a device, determine a first quality of a cellular communication link established with the device and a second quality of at least one local area communication link established with the device, attach a header to the first IP packet when the second quality is closer to a quality requirement of the first IP packet than the first quality, the header being used to tunnel the first IP packet to the device via the at least one local area communication link, and transmit the first IP packet to the device via the at least one local area communication link based on at least the first and second qualities.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for aggregating multi-user media access control protocol data units (MPDU) frame in a wireless network are provided. One aspect of this disclosure provides a method of wireless communication. The method includes generating, by an apparatus, an aggregated media access control protocol data unit (A-MPDU) frame comprising a plurality of media access control protocol data unit (MPDU) frames. A first MPDU frame of the plurality of MPDU frames is intended for at least a first device of a first type and a second MPDU frame of the plurality of MPDU frames is intended for at least a second device of a second type. The method further comprises inserting a value that is not defined for the second device into a media access control (MAC) header field of the first MPDU frame intended for the first device or the second MPDU frame intended for the second device.
Abstract:
In a particular embodiment, a method includes sending, by a first mobile device, a first discovery message via a network advertisement protocol common to a plurality of mobile devices. The first discovery message includes information specific to a mobile device cluster that is a subset of the plurality of mobile devices. The method further includes receiving a message from a second mobile device sent based on the information specific to the mobile device cluster using a second cluster protocol that is different than the network advertisement protocol.
Abstract:
Access terminals are adapted to transmit a plurality of previously successful access probes to a network node, and determine an initial transmission power level for subsequent access attempts. The initial transmission power level can be determined based at least in part on one or more parameters associated with the plurality of previously successful access probes. An initial access probe of a subsequent access attempt can then be transmitted at the determined initial transmission power level. Network nodes that receive the one or more access probes from access terminals can send a message instructing the access terminals to employ a particular initial transmission power level for a subsequent access attempt. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.
Abstract:
A method includes monitoring, at a first electronic device of a data link, a first wireless network during a first paging window corresponding to an active operating mode of electronic devices of the data link. The method also includes receiving, at the first electronic device, a traffic announcement message from a second electronic device of the data link during the first paging window.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and apparatuses for wireless communications in stations of a Neighbor Awareness network (NAN) cluster are disclosed that may utilize a default data path of a wireless network. A first station may receive a message from a second station, the message may identify whether the second station wants to utilize a default data path or a customized data path for subsequent data transmission. The first station may determine to utilize the default data path for data transmissions based at least in part on requirements of the first station and an identifier included in the message.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and computer program products for collision management of wireless devices in a peer-to-peer network are described herein. In one aspect, a method of communicating via a wireless medium by a wireless communications apparatus within a network is provided. The method includes determining first and second contention windows. The first contention window begins earlier than the second contention window. The method further includes beginning a first carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) countdown at the start of the first contention window. The method further includes beginning a second CSMA countdown when the first CSMA countdown does not end before the start of the second contention window. The method further includes transmitting the prepared frame at a time of the first CSMA countdown ending or the second CSMA countdown ending, whichever is earlier.
