摘要: A picture data compression coding device sets a normalizing coefficient which matches a block of picture data and normalizes the picture data by the normalizing coefficient, whereby an adequate compression ratio is selected on a block-by-block basis. The coding device sets a normalizing coefficient in response to the sum of activities of individual blocks and normalizes picture data by the normalizing coefficient, thereby maintaining the amount of coded data constant at all times. Further, the coding device normalizes picture data by multiplying them by a reciprocal of the normalizing coefficient so as to eliminate the need for a divider. A decoding device decodes the data having been coded by the coding device.

摘要: A neural network circuit, in which a number n of weight coefficients (Wl-wn) corresponding to a number n of inputs are provided, subtraction circuits determine the difference between inputs and the weight coefficients in each input terminal, the result thereof is inputted into absolute value circuits, all calculation results of the absolute value circuts corresponding to the inputs and the weight coefficients are inputted into an addition circuit and accumulated, and this accumulation result determines the output value. The threshold value circuit, which determines the final output value, has characteristics of a step function pattern, a polygonal line pattern, or a sigmoid function pattern, depending on the object. In the case in which a neural network circuit is realized by means of digital circuits, the absolute value circuits can comprise simply EX-OR logic (exclusive OR) gates. Furthermore, in the case in which the input terminals have two input paths and two weight coefficients corresponding to each input path, the neuron circuits form a recognition area having a flexible shape which is controlled by the weight coefficients. Neuron circuits are widely used in pattern recognition; neuron circuits react to a pattern inputted into the input layer and recognition is thereby conducted.

摘要: An image signal compression encoding apparatus achieving a two-dimensional orthogonal transformation encoding includes encoders to encode dc and ac components. For the encoders, each time the luminance signal Y, the color difference signal R-Y, or the color difference signals B-Y is to be encoded, an encoding table is changed. In these encoders, for example, the number of blocks are counted to detect events that the respective data amounts of the luminance signal Y and the color difference signals R-Y and B-Y are reached so as to alter the encoding table. This apparatus uses an appropriate encoding table by means of which the luminance signal Y and the color difference signals R-Y and B-Y can be encoded.

摘要: A powder collection container includes a container body, a conveying screw, a shaft portion, and a screw portion. The container body has a collection port from which powder is to flows into the container body. The conveying screw includes a shaft portion and a screw portion. The shaft portion extends in an axial direction of the conveying screw. The screw portion is wound around the shaft portion. The conveying screw rotates in a specified direction to convey the powder, which has flowed into the container body, toward an end of the conveying screw in the axial direction. The conveying screw includes a non-screw portion around which no screw portion is wound at least one position of the shaft portion between the collection port and the end of the conveying screw in the axial direction.

摘要: A cleaning device includes a casing including an opening facing the rotary member, a cleaning member disposed at the opening to contact the rotary member to remove a substance adhering thereto, an entrance seal disposed at the opening to prevent leakage of the removed substance through a gap between the opening and the rotary member, a pair of lateral end seals respectively disposed both end portions of the cleaning member as well as the entrance seal in an axial direction of the rotary member, and a compressing member. A first face of each lateral end seal is attached to the casing. The compressing member compresses each lateral end seal by pressing a second face thereof opposite the first face-and presses a third face of the lateral end seal against the casing in a direction in which the lateral end seal is expanded by the compression.
