Abstract:
The invention provides a dentition movement track indicator and a tracing method. The device includes an intra-oral fixation assembly and an extra-oral movement indicating assembly, wherein the intra-oral fixation assembly includes a lower denture base, a left side retention steel wire, a right side retention steel wire and a positioning steel wire. The lower denture base is arranged on the lingual side of the lower dentition and respectively extends from a lower incisor to the far center of the last tooth on the left side and the right side and clings to the lingual mucous membrane. The left side retention steel wire and the right side retention steel wire are distributed in a left-right symmetry mode. The extra-oral movement indicating assembly includes a connecting rod, an arc rod, an indicating plate and a plurality of rectangular parallelepiped thin rods. According to the dentition movement track indicator, an intra-oral fixation assembly.
Abstract:
A method includes determining depth values associated with a first set of pixel locations in a first image of a mouth. One or more function is generated for one or more color channels based on intensities of the one or more color channels at the first set of pixel locations and depth values associated with the first set of pixel locations. Image data comprising a new representation of the teeth is received, wherein the image data comprises a second set of pixel locations and new depth values associated with the second set of pixel locations. A new image is generated based on the image data and the one or more functions.
Abstract:
Non-sliding orthodontic appliances may include an archwire having male fasteners for locking in place with brackets in a non-sliding manner and interproximal loops for exerting forces on the brackets. Appropriate forces may be calculated according to vectors between initial and ideal tooth positions. The brackets may be transferred to a patient's teeth using indirect bonding trays which contain slots for holding and aligning each bracket. The trays may include integrated handles for facilitating handling, may be sectioned into smaller pieces for easier application, and/or may be labeled for facilitating proper registration. Superposition of a digital placement plan and clinical model after bonding may illustrate the accuracy of bracket placement. The archwire may comprise atraumatic ends to avoid patient discomfort. A color registration system can be used to facilitate the attachment of the archwire to the brackets. The archwire may be locked into place with the brackets using crimpable stops.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an orthodontic member, having a tube shape, a hollow polygonal prism shape, a hollow truncated polygonal pyramid shape, a hollow truncated cone shape, or a funnel shape, and including a water-soluble or biodegradable material, wherein the orthodontic member into which a wire is inserted is attached to the teeth, thereby making it simple to perform orthodontic treatment.
Abstract:
To provide a zirconia sintered body having both excellent translucency and bending strength, specifically a zirconia sintered body having both translucency and strength suitable as a denture for front tooth, and a process for its production.A translucent zirconia sintered body containing more than 4.0 mol % and at most 6.5 mol % of yttria and less than 0.1 wt % of alumina, and having a relative density of at least 99.82%, a total light transmittance of at least 37% and less than 40% to light with a wavelength of 600 nm at a thickness of 1.0 mm, and a bending strength of at least 500 MPa, and a process for its production.
Abstract:
Described herein is a diagnostic chewing gum for identifying the presence of pathogens detectable via the mouth, in particular pathogens residing in nasal, oropharyngeal, laryngeal, oesophageal, ocular and/or pulmonal tissue of a user, more particularly pathogens selected from among a virus, bacterium, protozoa, prion, fungus or a combination thereof. The inventive diagnostic chewing gum includes a base material or particles (3) embedded and/or attached to the base material and an element (1, 5-7), like e.g. a releasable flavor molecule, attached to the base material and/or the particles, for the generation of a change in the chewing gum directly detectable by the user, wherein the element (1, 5-7) generates the change upon direct or indirect contact with a marker (4) which is released by the pathogens, or, in case of a virus or prion, by the cellular structure hosting it.

Abstract:
The document proposes a diagnostic chewing gum for identifying the presence of inflammatory tissues in the mouth, in particular in or adjacent to the mandible, the maxilla, an implant or the teeth of a user, comprising a base material or particles (3) embedded and/or attached to said base material; an element (1, 5-7), like e.g. a releasable flavor molecule, attached to said base material and/or said particles, for the generation of a change in the chewing gum directly detectable by the user; wherein the element (1, 5-7) generates the change upon direct or indirect contact with a marker (4), e.g. a proteolytic enzyme, which is released by inflammatory tissue in response to bacterial mediators.
Abstract:
A finger shield combination and method for using the same for improved dental hygiene during the flossing of teeth. First and second finger shields have tubular sheaths for receiving first and second fingers. Adhesive tabs can be adhered partially to the tubular sheaths and partially to the fingers of the user to constrict the tubular sheaths and retain the finger shields. The adhesive tabs can be angled proximally past the proximal ends of the finger shields and can separably couple the first and second finger shields. The first finger shield can be applied to a forefinger, the second finger shield can be applied to a thumb, and a third finger shield can be applied to the middle finger. At least one stave disposed longitudinally along the tubular sheath of one of the finger shields can prevent constriction by the dental floss.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a blank for the production of a dental shaped body, wherein the blank has a corpus (2) of tooth restoration material, from which the shaped part to be fabricated is carved by means of a tool (4) by removal of material. The blank has coding means (1) formed on part of the surface (6) of the blank corpus (2), which coding means (1) has at least one structure (8, 9) for identification of the blank. The coding means (1) consists of a plurality of panels (5.1) at the level of the surface (6) of the corpus (2) and a plurality of panels (5.2, 5.3) incorporating a flat structure (8, 9) at a level (h1, h2) which is distinguishable from at least the level of the surface (6) of the corpus (2).The invention further relates to a method for identifying a blank with the aid of coding means (1).
