摘要: A balloon dilation assembly for use in balloon valvuloplasty is disclosed, which includes at least three outer balloons arranged around a central balloon and fixed to the central balloon, wherein each balloon has a supply tube for inflation and flow channels are provided between each adjacent pair of outer balloons, whereby at least one of the outer balloons is shorter in length than the remaining outer balloons and the central balloon.

摘要: One embodiment provides a balloon catheter which has an inner tube having a main lumen and an outer tube which forms an expansion lumen. A part of the inner tube is connected to the outer tube at a position closer to the proximal end than a balloon, a side hole is open at the connection section, and a weak section is provided to the inner tube a position closer to the distal end than the side hole. The weak section has lower rigidity than the remaining portion of the inner tube. When the balloon is expanded by fluid supplied to the expansion lumen, the weak section is pressed by the fluid pressure to thereby close the main lumen of the inner tube.

摘要: A dilation apparatus includes a shaft, a dilation balloon, and a standoff member. The shaft includes a first lumen and a second lumen. The distal end of the second lumen is proximal to the distal end of the first lumen. The dilation balloon encompasses the second distal end of the second lumen such that the dilation balloon defines an interior in fluid communication with the second lumen. A distal portion of the standoff member is positioned within the interior of the dilation balloon. The distal portion of the standoff member is distal to the second distal end of the second lumen. The standoff member provides a pathway for fluid communication between the interior of the dilation balloon and the second lumen. The standoff member may include a tube, a thread, polymeric beading, or other structures.

摘要: A transseptal cannula having a flexible cannula body, a left atrial anchor coupled to the distal end of the flexible cannula body, and a right atrial anchor operable to be attached to the left atrial anchor in vivo. The left and right atrial anchors are implanted and deployed separately. Delivery of the transseptal cannula to a heart tissue can include a low profile coaxial balloon catheter comprising a tube body including an inner member and an outer member surrounding the inner member and thereby creating an inflation channel between the inner and outer members, a hub coupled to the proximal portion of the tube body and including a fluid space in fluid communication with the inflation channel; and a balloon coupled to the distal portion of the tube body, wherein the balloon is in fluid communication with the inflation channel. The hub of the coaxial balloon catheter is constructed with a low profile so that other surgical devices can be directed over the coaxial hub without deflating and removing the balloon.

摘要: A balloon catheter having a multilayer catheter shaft is formed to have an inner layer and an outer layer, where the inner layer and outer layer are selected from materials that enhance the pushability of the catheter while preserving the flexibility. Using a combination of a high Shore D duromater value material and a lower Shore D duromater value material, various combinations of multilayer catheter shafts are disclosed utilizing different glass transition temperatures and block copolyamides to obtain the desired characteristics.

摘要: A balloon catheter is provided that may be used to dilate hardened regions of a stenosis on a vessel wall. The balloon catheter is provided with cutting elements that extend along a surface of a balloon. At least one bioactive is present, either on the cutting element, within the interior of the balloon, within the material of the balloon or on an outside surface of the balloon. The bioactive is delivered to the vessel wall upon dilation of the balloon.
