摘要: Methods of plugging a hydrocarbon well by using degradable plugs plus a degradable tape to ensure pressure testing to 10,000 psi. When the plug is no longer needed, a degradation fluid or fluids are pumped downhole and that fluid or fluids degrade the degradable plugs and degradable tape, thus avoiding the production of any solids large enough to clog or block equipment.

摘要: A method of detecting a leak event within a wellbore can include inducing a pressure differential within a wellbore comprising a fluid, obtaining a sample data set representative of the acoustic signal across a frequency spectrum while inducing the pressure differential, determining a plurality of frequency domain features of the sample data set, determining a presence of a leak event at one or more depths within the wellbore based on determining that the plurality of frequency domain features match a leak event signature, correlating the leak event with the induced pressure differential, and determining a presence and location of a leak within the wellbore based on the presence of the leak event and the correlating of the leak event with the induced pressure differential.

摘要: Hydraulic setting tools, packer setting systems, and methods thereof are provided. The hydraulic setting tool includes a mandrel containing a main flow path, a piston housing surrounding at least a portion of the mandrel, and a piston disposed between the piston housing and the mandrel. A cavity is defined at least partially between the piston, the piston housing, and the mandrel. The tool also includes a port passing through the mandrel and configured to provide fluid communication between the main flow path and of the cavity, and an isolation sleeve located within the mandrel and movable along the main flow path between a closed position and an opened position to control the fluid communication between the main flow path and the cavity via the port. A remotely activated valve is located downstream from the isolation sleeve along the main flow path and controls the fluid passing therethrough.

摘要: The subject technology relates to estimation of flow rates using acoustics in a subterranean borehole and/or formation. Other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed. The subject technology includes drilling a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation. The subject technology includes logging the wellbore using an acoustic sensing tool to obtain logged measurements, and obtaining acoustic pressure data associated with a leak source in the wellbore using the logged measurements. The subject technology also includes determining a flow rate (volumetric for fluid-based or mass for gas-based) of the leak source from the acoustic pressure data, and determining an area of the leak source from the determined flow rate. The subject technology also includes generating and providing, for display, a representation of the leak source using the flow rate and the area of the leak source.

摘要: Distributed fiber optic monitoring of vibration within a region of interest includes acquiring distributed vibration data from optical backscatter generated in response to an interrogating pulse of optical energy launched into an optical fiber deployed in a region of interest having a fluid flow, and generating a noise log from the distributed vibration data that includes a plurality of traces representing vibration energy above or below selected frequencies at a plurality of locations in the region of interest. Characteristics of the fluid flow in the region of interest are then determined based on the noise log.
