Abstract:
A pipe for simultaneously retaining a first pipe to a first port and a second pipe to a second port includes a first yoke for receiving the first pipe and the first port to retain the first pipe to the first port; a second yoke for receiving the second pipe and the second port to retain the second pipe to the second port; and a hinge joining the first yoke to the second yoke such that the hinge allows the first yoke to pivot relative to the second yoke about a hinge axis between 1) a disassembled position which allows removal of the pipe retainer from the first pipe, the first port, the second pipe, and the second port and 2) an assembled position which prevents removal of the pipe retainer from the first pipe, the first port, the second pipe, and the second port.
Abstract:
A connector having a connector body defining a first protrusion and a connector position assurance (CPA) device in the form of a sleeve axially surrounding the connector body that is moveable along a mating axis. The sleeve defines a second protrusion configured to engage the first protrusion when a first force is applied to the sleeve as the connector is mated with a corresponding mating connector. The second protrusion is configured to slide over the first protrusion and then disengage the first protrusion when a second force is applied to the sleeve, thereby producing a vibratory response in the sleeve. The vibratory response is a tactile vibration or an audible vibration. The second force applied to the sleeve is greater than the first force and the second force may be applied to the sleeve in the same direction as the first force or in the opposite direction.
Abstract:
An electrical connector including an electrical terminal, a connector housing and a terminal position assurance (TPA) device. The connector housing defines a longitudinal cavity configured to receive the electrical terminal and a lateral cavity lateral cavity is in communication with the longitudinal cavity. The TPA device is received within the lateral cavity and is moveable from an initial position within the lateral cavity to a final position. The TPA device includes a flexible primary locking feature configured to cooperate with a corresponding locking feature of the electrical terminal to lock the electrical terminal in the longitudinal cavity when the TPA device is in the initial position. The TPA device further includes a rigid secondary locking feature configured to cooperate with the corresponding locking feature to lock the electrical terminal in the longitudinal cavity when the TPA device is in the final position.
Abstract:
An assembly that attaches a ball grid array (BGA) packaged camera device to a printed circuit board (PCB) substrate is provided. The assembly includes a spacer between the device and the substrate. The spacer is configured to prevent excessive collapse of solder balls located between the device and the substrate during reflow of the solder balls. The spacer includes one of solder mask, tape, and/or legend ink.
Abstract:
An ignition coil for delivering a spark-generating current to a spark plug includes a magnetically-permeable core; a primary winding disposed outward of the core; and a secondary winding radially surrounding the primary winding and inductively coupled to the primary winding, the secondary winding having a low-voltage end and a high-voltage end. The secondary winding includes a secondary winding first section proximal to the low-voltage end and having a first thickness. The secondary winding also includes a secondary winding second section proximal to the high-voltage end and having a second thickness that is less than the first thickness of the secondary winding first section.
Abstract:
A system and method to mitigate electromagnetic interference generated by a source resonator of a wireless charging system is presented. The system includes a receiver that configured to receive a wireless charging signal transmitted by the source resonator, a phase shifter in communication with the receiver and configured to generate a canceling signal that is 180° out of phase with the wireless charging signal currently received by the receiver, and a transmitter in communication with the phase shifter and configured to electromagnetically transmit the canceling signal, thereby canceling at least a portion of the wireless charging signal. The canceling signal being at the same frequency and 180° out of phase interferes with the charging signal to reduce or eliminate electromagnetic interference in the vicinity of the vehicle being charged.
Abstract:
A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system for a vehicle includes an evaporator and a diffuser. The evaporator is configured to cool air passing through the evaporator. The diffuser is configured to direct a first portion of the air entering the diffuser through a first section of the evaporator, and direct a second portion of the air entering the diffuser through a second section of the evaporator. The evaporator and the diffuser are configured to cooperate such that air exits the first section at a first temperature and air exits the second section at a second temperature less than the first temperature.
Abstract:
An antenna suitable for use as a phased array antenna of a radar system. The antenna includes a plurality of radiating elements, and a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) configured to form a feed network to couple energy from a plurality of inputs to the radiating elements. The feed network includes over-moded waveguide couplers configured so energy propagates through an over-moded section in multiple modes, TE10 and TE20 modes for example. The feed network also defines sub-arrays configured such that half of the radiators of a sub-group are shared with an adjacent sub-group of an adjacent sub-array, i.e. the sub-arrays are configured to have 50% overlap. Preferably, the feed-network is formed about a single layer of substrate material.
Abstract:
A bending support having a planar bracing member with a length (L) that is substantially equal to that of the inner diameter (I.D.) of the manifold header that the bending support is ultimately inserted in. Extending perpendicularly from a surface of the bracing member is a pair of bracketing members. The pair of bracketing member and the portion of the planar bracing member therebetween defines a refrigerant conduit clip. The interior surface of the refrigerant conduit clip includes a skived pattern defining a plurality of teeth or protrusions that aids in the attachment of the refrigerant conduit clip onto an internal refrigerant conduit. An aperture located on the planar bracing member between the pair of bracketing member provides an unobstructed path for refrigerant flow to the refrigerant conduit.
