摘要： Techniques for detecting foreign objects in a charging path of a wireless power transfer system are disclosed. An example apparatus for detecting a presence of a foreign object includes a foreign object detection (FOD) system, a living object protection (LOP) system, a control circuit operably coupled to the FOD system and the LOP system and configured to detect a change in one or more power transfer parameters, perform a calibration procedure on the FOD system based on the change in the one or more power transfer parameters, operate the LOP system in a high sensitivity mode concurrently with the calibration procedure, and operate the LOP system in a standard detection mode upon completing the calibration procedure.

摘要： A charging station includes a plurality of electric power transmission portions and a power supply ECU. When a second vehicle is parked at a position where it can receive electric power from a first electric power transmission portion and when the second vehicle receives weak electric power from the first electric power transmission portion, the second vehicle transmits to the power supply ECU, an occupation signal which allows determination that the parking position corresponds to the first electric power transmission portion. When the power supply ECU receives the occupation signal of the first electric power transmission portion from the second vehicle, the power supply ECU stops transmission of weak electric power from the first electric power transmission portion and guides a first vehicle to a second electric power transmission portion.

In one aspect, an apparatus for detecting objects in a detection area of a wireless power transfer system is provided. The apparatus comprises a plurality of radar transceivers. The apparatus is configured to adjust the detection area based on at least one of a type of chargeable vehicle present, an amount of power being wirelessly transferred by the wireless power transfer system, an alignment of a vehicle with the wireless power transfer system, or a speed of the object approaching the detection area.
