Abstract:
Coordinated multipoint communication is a technology for improving cell-edge performance for users in a cell-type mobile communication system. In order to enable a coordinated multipoint transmission/reception operation, a user equipment report of a local environment is required to select both coordinated communication modes and communication partners in evolved Node B (eNB) base stations. According to the present invention, a method is described for feeding back information from User Equipment (UE) to a serving base station to enable a coordinated multi-point transmission/reception operation. The information reported through the feedback is classified into two categories corresponding to received signal intensity information and received signal timing information. The UE may select one or both types of information from between the categories to provide feedback. In embodiments of the present invention, various overhead-reducing reporting formats are described.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method are provided for transmitting feedback information by a User Equipment (UE) in a communication system. The method includes generating, by the UE, first feedback information; transmitting the first feedback information at a first time point in a first period; generating second feedback information; and transmitting the second feedback information at a second time point in a second period. The first time point and the second time point are different points from start points of the first period and the second period, respectively.
Abstract:
An electrically conductive composite knitting yarn includes a core yarn and a plurality of stainless steel wing yarns that are bonded to the core yarn and extend on a side of the core yarn; each of the wing yarns is bonded to the core yarn by continuously forming twist portions at two loops adjacent to each other from among a plurality of loops formed on the core yarn in a longitudinal length of the core yarn. Alignments of the yarns, forming of yarns in groups, and a method of manufacturing the electrically conductive composite knitting yarn also are disclosed.
Abstract:
A control information transmission and reception method based on a spatial-multiplexing gain, are provided. The control information may be transmitted by obtaining the spatial-multiplexing gain using an E-PDCCH region, and thus, a transmission efficiency of the control information may be improved. The common control information used for decoding the E-PDCCH may be transmitted via a PDCCH, and thus, a base station supporting both a general terminal and an enhanced terminal may effectively transmit the control information. Information associated with an indicator indicating whether the E-PDCCH is to be used during a subsequent resource allocation period may be transmitted, and thus, whether decoding with respect to the E-PDCCH is to be performed during the subsequent allocation period may be determined.

The present invention relates to a feeding assistant robot, which assists in feeding patients or the elderly and infirm who have difficulty in moving their arms and thus have difficulty in feeding themselves. The feeding assistant robot includes: a picking arm including a gripper for picking up food placed on a tray; a feeding arm, including a spoon on which the food picked up by the picking arm is placed, for moving the spoon to the mouth of a user; an input device enabling the user to direct the movements of the picking arm and of the feeding arm; and a control unit electrically connected to the picking arm, the feeding arm, and the manipulation part to control the movements of the picking arm and the feeding arm according to the commands from the input device.
Abstract:
Provided are a method for extracting a correlation to generate 3D motion data, and a motion capture system and method using the extracting method to easily compose a humanoid character on a real background image. Cameras for motion capture are installed in a real background capture location (such as an outdoor location or in a studio), and the correlation between motion capture fixed cameras and a moving camera for capturing a real background image is obtained to capture 3D motion data prior to performing motion capture for integrating a humanoid character, so that even when there is interaction between a 3D figure and an actual prop such as a chair or table within the captured space, a humanoid character can easily be composed with the real background.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus and method for detecting a horizon which is necessary to detect a camera movement when compositing sea images in a marker-free sea-image camera tracking system. In the method, an ROI is selected near a horizon in a still image of the moving image of the sea, and each maximum point corresponding to the maximum brightness difference is detected from brightness differences between two pixels of each pair having two symmetrical pixels in each column of the ROI. The horizon is detected through a line-fitting using the maximum points. Therefore, the result of horizon detection can be very stable and a horizon can be easily detected in a sea scene having hundreds of frames.
