摘要: A disc cartridge 1 for installing a rotary disc has a write inhibit tab 57 which is provided to be slid and indicates a writable or nonwritable status of the disc by its position. The write inhibit tab is comprised of a main body 58, upper and lower slide portions 65 through 68 formed respectively on upper and lower side ends of the main body, groove shaped intermediate slide portions 69 and 70 formed between the upper and lower slide portions, first projections 63 and 64 formed at distal ends of elastic arms extended from the main body, and second projections 71 and 72 formed on the intermediate slide portions. When the write inhibit tab is used for a disc cartridge of an unremovable disc, the upper and lower slide portions and the first projections are used, and when the write inhibit tab is used for a disc cartridge of a removable disc, the intermediate slide portions and the second projections are used.

摘要: A magnetic recording has very low warp characteristics but excellent film characteristics. Particularly, the recording medium has a high coercivity with a small range of coercivity distribution, with a warp characteristic below 3 .mu.m per radial inch. The medium is formed by heating a substrate at a high temperature with a temperature distribution on the substrate that is improved by the use of a heat distribution mask, which reduces the temperature distribution of the substrate to below .+-.3%.

摘要: A rotary shaft of a starter motor drives a crankshaft through an overrunning clutch and a rotary shaft of a generator. When an engine is started, the crankshaft drives a driven member of the overrunning clutch through the rotary shaft of the generator. A centrifugal member of the overrunning clutch separates a torque transmitting unit from the drive member or driven member of the overrunning clutch when the engine runs at a high speed to prevent wear of the overrunning clutch.

摘要: A thin film magnetic disc in which dot-like scattered bumps, made of a material different from that of the protective layer, are formed on the protective layer, and a lubricant layer is formed on the surfaces of the protective layer and the scattered bumps. A protective layer excellent in strength and disk durability is obtained by using a material different from that of the bumps. The functions of the protective layer and scattered bumps are separated from each other and make full use of the different materials. Such a protective layer is effective to reduce spacing between a head and the disc.

摘要: A speed reduction device including an overrunning clutch has a drive shaft having an eccentric ring and an inner gear plate disposed to be rotatable relative to the eccentric ring. The gear plate has a plurality of teeth and engagement holes. The device further has fixing pins fixed to the housing in engagement with the engagement holes of the inner gear plate to restrict rotation of the inner gear plate to thereby allow swinging of the gear plate, an outer ring disposed around the inner gear plate and connected to a driven shaft and a torque transmitting member which engages the teeth of the inner gear plate to transmit torque from the inner gear plate to the outer ring. The torque transmitting member is arranged to disengage the teeth of the inner gear plate by centrifugal force when the outer ring rotates at a speed higher than a threshold value.

摘要: A method of producing a press-connecting joint connector and a method of press-connecting wires, in which the step of mounting press-connecting terminals in a housing is eliminated thereby reducing the production time, the housing-forming mold is simplified, and connective portions are prevented from being easily ruptured. Linked press-connecting terminal groups (32) are inserted-molded integrally in housings (34), respectively, thereby forming press-connecting joint connectors (30) which are linked together by a linkage plate (40) which is integral with the press-connecting terminal groups (32). Thus, when molding the housings (34), the press-connecting terminal groups (32) are formed integrally with the housings (34), respectively, so that the step of inserting the press-connecting terminal groups into the respective housings (34) is eliminated. The housings (34) can be molded independently of each other so that the housing (34) can be simplified, and linkage portions of the press-connecting joint connectors (30) have an increased strength.

摘要: A control system for an internal combustion engine for a vehicle has an automatic transmission. The control system is operable during gear shifting of the automatic transmission, for changing output torque of the engine to reduce a shock generated during the gear shifting. During gear shifting in which a change gear ratio of the automatic transmission is to be increased, upon stepping-on of the accelerator pedal of the vehicle, the output torque of the engine is increased by a first predetermined amount based on an operating condition of the vehicle when an increase occurs in the rotational speed of the engine due to the gear shifting. After the output torque of the engine is increased by the first predetermined amount, the output torque of the engine is decreased by a second predetermined amount based on the operating condition of the vehicle. After the output torque of the engine is decreased by the second predetermined amount, the output torque of the engine is progressively recovered to a value assumed upon completion of the gear shifting.
