摘要: In a submergence-detecting power-window apparatus, with a submergence-detecting circuit put in an inoperative state, a control unit turns on one of multiple control switches corresponding to the operation carried out on the window-opening-and-closing switch, a switch control unit applies a control voltage to a motor-driving unit through the turned-on control switch to drive the window-opening-and-closing motor in order to open or close the window; and with the submergence-detecting circuit put in an operative state by the car's submergence, a turned-on state of any one of the control switches is made ineffective and an operation carried out on the submergence-time window-opening switch causes a control voltage to be supplied to the motor-driving unit in order to open the window.

摘要: Provided is a planar lightwave circuit module in which the required optical components constituting an optical fiber amplifier and representing components other than amplifying optical fibers are formed into a unitary structure on a common substrate. This planar lightwave circuit module comprises signal light input ports, signal light output ports, and first and second connection ports. The first connection port is connected to the signal light output ports and to one end of an amplifying optical fiber. The second connection port is connected to the signal light input ports and to the other end of the amplifying optical fiber. Optical coupling means for feeding pumping light from an pumping source to the amplifying optical fiber are also provided in the form of waveguides or in integrated form. Amplifying optical fibers are connected from the outside to the first and second connection ports of this planar lightwave circuit module, yielding an optical fiber amplifier.

摘要: An pinching detecting method for use in a power window apparatus, capable of preventing a malfunction even if a normal pulse edge interval is unobtainable, and of preventing a force exceeding a reference value from acting on an object pinched into a window. The power window apparatus is made up of a window opening and closing motor, a motor driving section, a pulse generator, a micro control unit and a switch device, and a timer is incorporated into the micro control unit. The micro control unit obtains a corresponding pinching decision time from a reference value at that time whenever a pulse edge of pulses outputted from the pulse generator arrives at the micro control unit and updates a set time of the timer. If one pulse edge arrives but the next pulse edge does not arrive after the elapse of the pinching decision time, the micro control unit ceases a decision on the occurrence/no occurrence of the pinching in the window and stops the drive of the motor or drives the motor in the reverse direction. The calculation of the pinching decision time is made on the basis of k1 and k2 tables stored in a memory of the micro control unit.

摘要: The inner area of a muffler of an engine is partitioned into an expansion chamber, a first volume chamber and a second volume chamber. An inlet tube and the first volume chamber are connected by a first passage. The first volume chamber and a second volume chamber are connected by a second passage, and the second volume chamber and expansion chamber are connected by a third passage. The flow of exhaust gas reaching the expansion chamber via the first passage, second passage and third passage is blocked by a valve which opens according to a pressure rise of the exhaust gas. One of the two acoustic paths formed when the valve is open functions as a resonator having two degrees of freedom relative to the other path so that a high muffling effect is obtained.

摘要: A probe having one vibrator element array containing at least two groups of vibrator elements. The number of vibrator elements belonging to each of the groups is an ordinary number. At least two probe-side connectors are provided correspondingly to the groups. A plurality of connectors capable of being connected to the probe-side connectors are provided in a diagnosis apparatus body. In the vibrator element array, not only ultrasonic transmission signals can be transmitted to arbitrary elements simultaneously but ultrasonic reception signals can be received from the arbitrary elements simultaneously. Accordingly, vibrator elements belonging to different groups in the probe connected to the body are activated substantially simultaneously.

摘要: An ultrasonic diagnosis system includes a probe and a diagnosis processing apparatus. Ultrasonic transmission signal-transmission power characteristic intrinsic to the probe is previously measured and a transmission power identifying signal indicating the characteristic is imparted to the probe itself. Upon connection of the probe to the diagnosis processing apparatus, the transmission power identifying signal is inputted to a CPU of the diagnosis processing apparatus which includes a memory for storing correcting data corresponding to ranks of the characteristics. The CPU reads out from the memory the correcting data on the basis of the inputted transmission power identifying signal indicating the rank of the probe for thereby correcting the ultrasonic transmission signal. When the characteristic of the probe as connected is such that greater transmission power is outputted for the basic transmission signal when compared with the standardized or design level, amplitude of the ultrasonic transmission signal is corrected to be smaller so that the transmission power assumes the standard or design value. The power sent from the probe thus coincides with the design value regardless of variance in the characteristic of the probe.

摘要: In a description area means of an image printing apparatus such as a laser printer, a request signal for setting a description area is output from the laser printer to a host apparatus and a signal for setting the description area is received by the laser printer and a necessary description area is set voluntarily. The description area is a right blank, a left blank, an upper blank and a lower blank etc. The necessary description area is set according to the description area setting signal. The necessary description area can be set voluntarily from the host apparatus, and it is unnecessary to transmit the image information as to the area excluding the setting necessary image area. During the printing operation the printing is inhibited at the description area excluding the setting description area. A protection function about an inferior description at the blank area (non-description area) in the laser printer can be obtained.

摘要: A resonance detection device is provided for detecting resonance in an exhaust passage of an automotive vehicle. The detection device employs a temperature sensor in combination with an arrangement which enables the sensor to be exposed to a flow of exhaust gas the temperature of which is different from the temperature of the bulk of the flow, when resonance occurs. In given embodiments the arrangement takes the form different diameter conduits and/or vessels, while others it takes the form of a heat exchange device which either heats or cools the gases, and which is disposed proximate the temperature sensor. When no resonance occurs in the passage, the output of the temperature sensor remains stable. When resonance occurs the fluid flow characteristics in the passage change in a manner wherein the gas which has been either heated or cooled by the heat exchange device is induced to flow against the temperature sensor. The sensed temperature change can be used to control a valve via which the resonance characteristics of the passage are modified and via which resonance is attenuated.
