Abstract: Techniques are described for determining the energy usage of a data center and invoking one or more actions to improve the energy usage of the data center. For example, a computing system may obtain energy usage data of a data center deploying an application. The computing system may also determine, based on a comparison of the energy usage data of the data center deploying the application to a percentage of energy provided by one or more renewable energy sources to the data center, a green quotient of the application that specifies a value that indicates whether the data center deploying the application is energy efficient. The computing system may further invoke, based on the green quotient of the application that specifies a value that indicates the data center deploying the application is not energy efficient, an action to improve energy usage of the data center deploying the application.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating session-specific packet capture records. In one example, a first network device receives a first packet of a session between first and second client devices, the session comprising forward and reverse packet flows. The first network device modifies the first packet to include metadata comprising a packet capture indicator that indicates whether packet capture is to be performed for the session. The first network device stores at least a portion of the first packet and each subsequent packet of the session and forwards the modified first packet. A second network device receives the modified first packet and, based on the packet capture indicator, stores at least a portion of the first packet and each subsequent packet of the session in a session-specific packet capture record. The first and second network devices may generate, from the stored packet data, a packet capture record for the session.

Abstract: An example computing device is configured to receive an instance of a customer service model representative of a plurality of customer services. Each of the plurality of customer services associated with a corresponding at least one requirement and a corresponding at least one constraint. The computing device is configured to receive an instance of a resource model representative of a plurality of resources and map the instance of the customer service model and the instance of the resource model to an internal placement model. The computing device is configured to allocate the plurality of resources to the plurality of customer services such that the at least one requirement and the at least one constraint for each of the plurality of customer services are satisfied and inverse map data indicating how the plurality of resources are allocated to a format consumable by the customer device and output the inverse mapped data.

Abstract: A network node may receive a packet that originated from a root network node and may process the packet to determine segment identifier (SID) information associated with a point-to-multipoint transport chain. The network node may determine, based on the SID information, that the network node is a transit leaf node in the point-to-multipoint transport chain. The network node may generate, based on determining that the network node is a transit leaf node in the point-to-multipoint transport chain, a copy of the packet and may process the copy of the packet to perform one or more actions. The network node may update, based on determining that the network node is a transit leaf node in the point-to-multipoint transport chain, the SID information and may send, after updating the SID information, the packet, with the updated SID information, to another network node.
