Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may include one or more processors that are configured to cause UE capability information to be communicated to a radio access network (RAN) node, regarding a maximum number of blind decode attempts (BDAs) supported by the UE. The one or more processors are configured to determine, based on the maximum BDAs, shortened channel control elements (sCCEs) to be used, by the RAN node, to transmit shortened downlink control information (sDCI) via a shortened physical downlink control channel (sPDCCH) and obtain sDCI by monitoring the sPDCCH in accordance with the determined sCCEs.

Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media for use in a wireless network for beam failure recovery (BFR). For example, some embodiments are directed to a user equipment (UE). The UE includes radio front end circuitry and processor circuitry coupled to the radio front end circuitry. The processor circuitry can be configured to receive, using the radio front end circuitry, one or more reference signals. The processor circuitry can be further configured to, in response to determining that a beam failure occurred for the one or more reference signals, determine a contention-free (CF) physical random access channel (PRACH) resource for a beam failure recovery (BFR) request. The processor circuitry can be further configured to transmit, using the radio front circuitry, the BFR request using the determined CF PRACH resource.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for multiplexing of PUCCH for beam failure recovery and other signals. A UE may determine a transmission dropping rule and a transmission power scaling rule for a PUCCH which is dedicatedly configured for secondary BFR transmission, such as a PUCCH-BFR, when it is multiplexed with BFR multiplexed with at least one other signal. The PUCCH-BFR and the at least one other signal may be multiplexed in a CC or in multiple CCs. The UE may determine a transmission dropping rule, e.g., so that UE can transmit an uplink signals with higher priority and drop the other uplink signal with lower priority to avoid beam collisions. The UE may determine a transmission power scaling rule, e.g., so the UE may scale transmission power within a CC and/or across CCs. The UE may multiplex the PUCCH-BFR with the at least one other signal according to the rules.

Abstract: Techniques for employing QCL (Quasi Co-Location) signaling for beamforming management are discussed. One example embodiment can comprise a baseband processor of a User Equipment (UE). The baseband processor comprises one or more processors to make a determination whether a first set of RS (Reference Signal) APs (Antenna Ports) are QCL-ed (Quasi Co-Located) with a second set of RS APs with respect to one or more large-scale channel properties and to select a set of receiving parameters for the second set of RS APs based on the one or more spatial receiver parameters. The one or more large-scale channel properties comprise one or more spatial receiver parameters. The first set of RS APs are distinct from the second set of RS APs.

Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to improved channel quality information feedback techniques. In one embodiment, for example, an evolved node B (eNB) may comprise a processor circuit, a communication component for execution by the processor circuit to receive a channel quality index for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), the channel quality index associated with a defined reference resource, and a selection component for execution by the processor circuit to select a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for transmission over the PDSCH of user equipment (UE) data in one or more resource blocks, the selection component to compensate for a difference between a cell-specific reference signal (CRS) overhead of the defined reference resource and a CRS overhead of the one or more resource blocks when selecting the MCS. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
