摘要: The efficacy of light activated therapy treatment is enhanced by stimulating the immune system of the patient substantially above a normal level. Abnormal tissue that is destroyed by the light activated therapy releases factors that stimulate the immune system, leading to systemic reductions in abnormal tissue (i.e., reduction beyond the region treated using light). By further stimulating the immune system using an anti-CTLA-4 antibody, the systemic destruction of abnormal tissue is enhanced.

摘要: A system for the accelerated re-provisioning of data over cable service interface specification (DOCSIS) configuration files between a DOCSIS provisioning server and a plurality of network nodes that are configured according to the DOCSIS configuration files is provided. The system includes: a memory; and a caching entity configured to monitor transmissions from the provisioning server of the configuration files to the network nodes so as to both store the configurations files in the memory and to pass-through the configuration files to the network nodes; the caching entity being further configured to monitor requests to the provisioning server for respective ones of the DOCSIS configuration files from the network nodes, the caching entity being further configured to determine for each of the requests whether the requested configuration file has been previously requested node such that if the caching entity determines that the requested configuration file has been previously requested the caching entity retrieves the previously requested configuration file from the memory and returns the retrieved-from-memory configuration file to the network node.

摘要: A method to provide information from a first information storage and retrieval system to a second information storage and retrieval system, where the first information storage and retrieval system comprises (N) PPRC adapters and information. The method generates and saves an Established Path Bitmap which recites the (N) PPRC adapters, and generates an Available Path Bitmap. If a PPRC adapter is in communication with the secondary storage system, then the method adds that adapter to the Available Path Bitmap. The primary information storage and retrieval system generates a PPRC task comprising a flag set to “off”. The method copies the Available Path Bitmap as a Working Bitmap, and generates a PPRC request comprising a flag set to “on”, selects one of the adapters recited in the Working Bitmap, and provides the PPRC request to that selected adapter. The method then once attempts to provide information to the second information storage and retrieval system using the selected adapter.

摘要: A method of manufacture and medical apparatus that provides an apparatus useful in illuminating at least a portion of a lumen of a body. The apparatus includes an elongated flexible member and a polymer encasement portion encasing a plurality of light emitters. The light emitters may be electrically coupled to one another without the use of wire bonds, and in some embodiments may be coupled without intervening electrical paths or traces. A maximum cross-sectional dimension of the polymer encasement portion may be less than twice a dimension of one of the light emitters. In some embodiments the maximum cross-sectional dimension is less than or equal to the sum of the dimension of one of the light emitters and a marginal dimension by which an outer portion of the polymer encasement portion extends beyond the light emitter. Light emitters may be arranged linearly, helically or in partially overlapping back-to-back relation.

摘要: It has been discovered that a mechanical flotation system (10) having only two cells (18, 20) can be nearly as efficient as one having more cells, yet provide an apparatus with a considerably smaller footprint, significantly reduced capital and operating costs, as well as be resistant to floating oil recovery platform wave effects. The dual-cell mechanical flotation system (10) has, in sequential order, an inlet chamber (16) and two gasification chambers or cells (18, 20), each with at least one gas ingestion and mixing mechanism (32), and a discharge chamber (24). A common primary skim collection channel (40) atop the partition (44) dividing the gasification chambers (18, 20) efficiently channels away the bulk of the floating collected matter. At least one baffle (60) depending from the top of the vessel (12) near the primary skim collection channel (40) helps dampen the action of the fluid containing the suspended matter when the vessel (12) is affected by wave motion against the floating oil production platform. The liquid or froth levels (50, 66, and 76) can be intermittently raised for collection or otherwise lowered during periods of excessive turbulence (e.g. pitch or roll) to prevent clarified liquid from being collected with suspended matter.
