Abstract:
A video presenter for radiating light toward an object, such as a film negative or transparency, includes an illuminating unit detachably installed within a pallet supporting the object for photographing. To obtain a superior-quality image by uniformly passing light through the object, a recessed portion is formed in the pallet and the illuminating unit is detachably inserted therein. The detachable nature of the illuminating portion permits it to be used apart from the video presenter for other purposes. Further, the illuminating unit may include a diffusion panel for diffusing light emitted by plural light sources; the diffused light being directed upwardly to illuminate the object.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a compact scanner with an internal document tray which can be integrated with a computer and adapted to the location of the floppy diskette driver of the computer. The invention has a very simple structure driving device which allows a document I/O device to locate between illuminating device and photoelectric converting unit. When scanning, an illuminating unit provides light source for the reflective sheet placed on the internal document I/O device. The reflection is then guided to photoelectric converting unit to be converted into electric signals for the computer to read.

Accordingly, there is provided a TV conference system including an improvement which can provide good operability to a conference participant. In addition, the operability of the system is improved to a further extent by improving an image input apparatus.
Abstract:
A laser pattern inspection and/or writing system which writes or inspects a pattern on a target on a stage, by raster scanning the target pixels. Inspection can also be done by substage illumination with non-laser light. A database, organized into frames and strips, represents an ideal pattern as one or more polygons. Each polygon's data decription is contained within a single data frame. The database is transformed into a turnpoint polygon representation, then a left and right vector representation, then an addressed pixel representation, then a bit-mapped representation of the entire target. Most of the transformations are carried out in parallel pipelines. Guardbands around polygon sides are used for error filtering during inspection. Guardbands are polygons, and frames containing only guardband information are sent down dedicated pipelines. Error filtering also is done at the time of pixel comparisons of ideal with real patterns, and subsequently during defect area consolidation. Defect areas are viewed as color overlays of ideal and actual target areas, from data generated during real time. Defect areas can be de-zoomed to allow larger target areas to be viewed. An autofocus keeps the scanning laser beam in focus on the target. The inspection system is used to find fiducial marks to orient the target prior to raster scanning. IC bars are provided with alignment marks for locating each IC bar. Interferometers or glass scale encoders allow the stage position to be known.
Abstract:
A color image pickup apparatus has one line sensor which sequentially reads a document through different color filters to generate different color signals. Either the line sensor or the document is mechanically moved in a sub-scanning direction by a mechanical device. A rotary encoder coupled to the mechanical device generates pickup pulses which drive the line sensor each time the line sensor or document is moved a predetermined distance. In an alternate embodiment, two or more line sensors having different color filters each read a different line on the document to generate different color signals having shifted timings. Frame memories, shift registers, memories with a capacity of a plurality of lines, or buffer registers may be used to correct for the shifted timings of the color signals.
Abstract:
A video scanning arrangement for scanning and digitizing documents, and having a scanner actuable to scan a document on a tablet beneath the scanner. The scanner is attached to a horizontal arm member which is in turn attached to and movable up and down a vertical support member which in turn is attached to the tablet. Two light arms are pivotally attached to the horizontal arm member and each light arm has a light source attached to its nonpivoting end. Each light arm is normally folded against the horizontal arm member for storage when the video scanning arrangement is not in use, and the light arms are extended to move the light sources away from the arm member when the video scanning arrangement is to be used. The light sources are energized to illuminate a document on the tablet when the scanner is actuated to scan a document.

The image reading apparatus according to the present invention includes: an image pickup unit configured to image an original that is mounted on a mounting surface; a projecting unit configured to project an image on the mounting surface by sequentially switching and emitting light of a plurality of colors; and a control unit configured to control the projecting unit so as to project a first black image, a first color image, and a second black image in this order during the imaging by the image pickup unit.
Abstract:
An image recording method is disclosed. The image recording device has a camera having an image sensor and an objective lens, wherein the camera defines an image recording region, and the image sensor has a capture area having a plurality of image pixels which can be activated and read out in pixel groups, and a marking unit having a light source. The emission of the marking light is performed such that a visually perceptible light marking is generated inside the image recording region, and is performed in a predetermined manner to generate light marking within a light incidence region, which forms a subregion of the image recording region and the image capture is performed using chronologically offset collection, pixel group by pixel group, of exposure information, wherein the emission of the marking light is interrupted for the collection of the exposure information for each pixel group.
