Abstract: A process for forming a silicone material is shown and described herein. The process comprises reacting (i) a MQ silicone resin, (ii) a polyorganosiloxane, and (iii) a hydrophilic functional siloxane, wherein the reaction is conducted in the absence of an external catalyst. The mixture of (i), (ii), and (iii) is self-catalyzing and does not require an external condensation catalyst. The process is suitable for forming a cured silicone material such as, for example, a pressure sensitive adhesive.

Abstract: A process for producing a silicone pressure sensitive adhesive is shown and described herein. The process comprises reacting a MQ silicone resin with a polydiorganosiloxane in the absence of a solvent. The MQ silicone resin is a solid, solventless MQ resin. The reaction may be conducted in the presence of a catalyst, a chain extension reagent, or a combination thereof, and the resulting pressure sensitive adhesive can be dissolved in a solvent and the solids content adjusted. The present method provides a manner to provide a cleaner adhesive material that is free of unwanted materials such as aromatic solvents and also substantially free of cyclic siloxane impurities.

The composition comprises a silicone resin, a surfactant, and an emulsion promoting agent. The emulsion promoting agent comprises a hydrophobically modified polyether. The use of the hydrophobically modified polyether along with the surfactant provides a silicone emulsion that is stable.

Abstract: A coating composition is shown and described herein. The coating composition comprises: the (meth)acrylic polymer containing at least one active hydrogen (a), the epoxy silane oligomer composition (b), emulsifier (c), titanium oxide particles (d), a siliceous particulate filler (e) and water (f) optionally one or more additives, where the epoxy silane oligomer composition comprises 5 to 15 weight percent monomer, 5 to 20 weight percent dimer, 5 to 20 weight percent trimer and 45-85 weight percent poly-oligomers components. The coating composition can provide a water-based coating composition exhibiting early water resistance such that defects in the coating are minimized if exposed to water prior to the coating being fully cured.

The reactive poly(fluoroalkyl-functional siloxane) oligomer are more hydrophobic and oleophobic and show better chemical resistance than the hydrolysable fluoroalkyl-functional silane.
