摘要： A jitter compensation system is applied to a rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus having a reproducing transducer including a reproducing element for reproducing recorded signals from a rotary recording medium, where the rotary recording medium is recorded with an information signal track and also recorded with reference signals for tracking control having predetermined frequencies. The jitter compensation system comprises a separating circuit for separating the reference signals from a signal reproduced by the reproducing transducer, a detecting circuit for frequency-detecting frequencies of the separated reference signals, to produce a jitter compensation signal, and a displacing circuit responsive to the output jitter compensation signal of the detecting circuit, for displacing the reproducing element of the reproducing transducer along a relative scanning direction with respect to the rotary recording medium.

摘要： In a playback apparatus a first sync code is detected from a series of data blocks to separate binary digits of multi-channel still-picture data from binary digits of multi-channel audio and computer-control data. Second and third sync codes are subsequently detected from the separated binary digits of the audio and computer-control data. A data selector is responsive to a channel selection manual command signal and to the second sync code for selecting the audio data words of a desired channel and the computer-control data bits of a desired channel from the separated binary digits of the multi-channel audio and computer-control data. A video converter is responsive to the command signal for storing the still-picture data words of a desired channel for a predetermined period and converting the stored data words into an analog video signal for application to a visual display. An audio converter converts the selected audio data words into an analog audio signal for application to a loudspeaker. A decoder is provided to respond to the detected third sync code by decoding the computer-control binary digits of the selected channel into computer-control data words for application to a personal computer which is coupled to the display.

摘要： A periodical signal detection circuit in a reproducing apparatus which reproduces an information signal and a periodical signal from a recording medium recorded with the information and periodical signals comprises a separation circuit for separating the periodical signal from the reproduced signal, a reference pulse generating circuit for generating a reference pulse having a same repetition frequency as the periodical signal, a window signal forming circuit for forming window signals respectively having differing widths, with a repetition period identical to that of the reference pulse, a first gate circuit for producing the periodical signal from the periodical signal obtained from the separation circuit and the window signal obtained from the window signal forming circuit, a first counter for generating a switching control signal every time the reference pulse is counted N (N is an integer including zero) times, to produce an output when counting is performed for a predetermined number of times, a window signal supplying circuit responsive to the switching control signal obtained from the first counter of the window signals from the window signal forming circuit, for supplying a window signal having a width corresponding to the switching control signal to the first gate circuit, a second gate circuit for passing the signal from the separation circuit according to the output of the first counter, and an output circuit for producing the reference pulse, the output of the first gate circuit, or the output of the second gate circuit as a detected periodical signal.

摘要： An improved memory utilization control system for compressed digital picture data transmission systems, comprises an input terminal coupled to the memory circuit having a capacity of one frame, an address signal generator generating an address signal which successively indicates write-in addresses in first and second memory regions each amounting to one field in the memory circuit when picture element data of frame-transmission to be reproduced in the first and second fields are applied to the input terminal, and for generating two address signals which respectively and successively indicate write-in addresses in the first and second memory regions when picture element data of field-transmission are applied to the input terminal, a write-in pulse generator generating write-in pulses for writing the picture element data into the memory circuit, and a read-out control circuit for reading out stored picture element data from the first memory region during reproduction of the first field, and for reading out stored picture element data from the second memory region during reproduction of the second field, so that a total capacity of the memory circuit required otherwise is reduced drastically.

摘要： A signal pickup device in a rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus comprises a turntable placed thereon with a rotary recording medium recorded with an information signal as variations in geometrical configuration, for rotating the rotary recording medium, a reproducing stylus provided at a tip end of a cantilever, for making contact with and sliding against a recorded region of the rotary recording medium upon reproduction to reproduce the information signal, a resonator having a resonance frequency which varies in accordance with the above variations in geometrical configuration, and a conductive ribbon having one end connected to the reproducing stylus and the other end connected to the resonator to electrically connect an electrode of the reproducing stylus with the resonator, where the conductive ribbon is in a curved and bent state upon reproduction of the rotary recording medium. The conductive ribbon has a length such that the conductive ribbon is put into an extended state from the above curved and bent state when the reproducing stylus is lowered below the height position of the rotary recording medium, to restrict the lowering of the reproducing stylus at a height position higher than that of the turntable.

A reproducing apparatus for reproducing this rotary recording medium comprises a detecting circuit for detecting the instruction signal from among signals reproduced by the reproducing element, a kick pulse generator for generating a kick pulse responsive to the instruction signal supplied from the detecting circuit, and a switch for selectively supplying the output signal of the detecting circuit in a normal reproduction mode and supplying a still picture reproduction mode signal in a still picture reproduction mode to the kick pulse generator.

摘要： A rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus has an inserting opening through which the case of the medium is inserted, a turntable for rotating the medium, a locking mechanism for the lid of the case, and a medium clamping mechanism. A jacket opening enlarging mechanism is provided in the vicinity of the inserting opening for moving over the turntable between the vicinity of the inserting opening and the innermost part of the reproducing apparatus, in response to an operation in which the case is inserted into and then pulled out from the recording apparatus. A medium supporting member provided at a center part of the turntable moves upwards and downwards independently of the turntable, for raising to support an inner peripheral part of the medium above the turntable. A supporting member elevator mechanism elevates the medium supporting member so that the latter is in a raised state when the case or an empty jacket is inserted into the reproducing apparatus. A driving circuit operates the supporting member elevator mechanism in one direction to operate the mechanism so that the medium supporting member is raised and operates in a reverse direction to lower the supporting member. A control circuit and detector operates the driving circuit if the supporting member is still at the raised position after a predetermined time period.
