    摘要: The invention refers to a puncturing device for generating a puncturing wound by means of a replaceable lancet that comprises a coupling element for transmitting a torque, whereby the puncturing device comprises a lancet drive which, for a puncture, transmits a torque to an inserted lancet that is coupled to the lancet drive by means of its coupling element such that the inserted lancet performs a puncturing motion in the form of a rotational motion about a geometric axis. According to embodiments of the invention, the geometric axis extends through the coupling element. The invention also refers to a lancet supply ribbon comprising lancets for such device and lancets comprising a lancet body having a lancet tip, whereby the lancet body, for coupling to a lancet drive of a puncturing device, comprises a coupling element by means of which the lancet can be made to perform a rotational motion and has a test field for assaying a body fluid sample to which a body fluid sample can be supplied only after the lancet tip has been pulled out of a puncturing wound that has been generated.

In one form, the device is operable to adjust the penetration depth of the lancet into the skin. The bodily fluid sampling device includes a lancet adapted to form an incision in skin. A skin contacting member has an orifice through which the lancet extends when lancing the skin. The orifice has a first opening size that is sized to flatten the skin around the lancet during lancing. The orifice has a second opening size that is larger than the first opening size after the incision is formed to express fluid from the incision.

    摘要: A lancet having one or more portions of the shank of the lancet blade exposed for direct engagement with cooperating portion(s) of the lancet carrier of a lancing device. This direct engagement of the lancet blade with the lancet carrier provides more precise positional control of the location of the lancing site by eliminating the effect that any variation in the position of the lancet blade within the lancet body would otherwise have on the positioning of the lancet tip. Tolerance stack-up is thereby reduced and accuracy is improved, reducing the necessary sample size and minimizing pain resulting from the lancing operation.
