Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to providing a contextual call notification. An electronic device receives an indication of an incoming voice communication associated with a caller. The electronic device obtains contextual information that is indicative of a likely intent of the caller and is distinct from an identity of the caller. In response to receiving the indication, the electronic device displays a notification that represents the voice communication. While displaying the notification, the electronic device detects a user input. In response to detecting the user input, the electronic device, in accordance with a determination that the user input includes a request to accept the incoming voice communication, establishes a voice communication session between the user and the caller, and, in accordance with a determination that the user input does not include a request to accept the incoming voice communication, forgoes establishing a voice communication session.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of the invention provide a mobile device that restricts access to its applications. The mobile device, displays, on the device's touch screen display, a lock screen page for accessing the device in a primary access mode or a secondary access mode. The primary access mode provides access to several of the device's applications, and the secondary access mode provides access to a limited set of the applications. The mobile device receives a touch input on the lock screen page to access the device in the secondary access mode. The mobile device unlocks the device to the secondary access mode by allowing access to the set of applications and restricting access to the remaining applications in the plurality of applications.
Abstract:
A graphical user interface (GUI) for a unified software update display center is provided. The GUI includes a first display area for displaying a set of available security system software updates. The GUI includes a second display area for displaying a set of available non-security system software updates. The GUI includes a third display area for displaying a set of available application software updates. The GUI includes a single selection tool for installing all available security updates without installing any updates displayed in the second and third display areas. The GUI includes individual selection tools for installing individual updates displayed in the second and third display areas. The GUI includes a selection tool to receive further updates from a system update server and an application update server. The critical security updates are displayed with different display attributes or in different sections to distinguish them from other types of updates.
Abstract:
A case for a pair of wireless earbuds includes a lid and a lid sensor configured to generate a detect signal when the lid is moved from a closed position to an open position. The case further includes circuitry configured to, in response to receiving the detect signal, send a signal to the wireless earbuds to turn them on and to initiate a pairing sequence between the wireless earbuds and an electronic device.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for a media content delivery service. A media content provider includes a data store for storing and serving media content to subscribers. The media content provider continually records and or otherwise stores video and audio content from around the world. Stored content will generally correspond to a large number of other media content providers, such as cable television operators, Internet based media content providers, television networks, and so on. Subscribers to the media provider interact with the media content provider via hardware and/or software mechanisms either provided by the media content provider or conforming to specifications of the media content provider. Based on these subscriber's subscriptions to the other content providers, the subscribers will have viewing, listening, or application execution privileges for content maintained in the data store. Content of a subscriber corresponding to multiple video content providers is maintained and served by a single provider.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays, on a display, a map that is associated with a first orientation. The electronic device receives a touch input on a touch-sensitive surface, and, in response to receiving the touch input on the touch-sensitive surface, rotates the map on the display in accordance with the touch input. While rotating the map on the display in accordance with the touch input, in response to determining that a displayed orientation of the rotated map corresponds to the first orientation of the map, the electronic device generates a first tactile output.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of the invention provide a mobile device with multiple access modes. The device in some embodiments has at least two access modes, a primary access mode and a secondary access mode, that provide different restrictions for accessing the applications and/or data that are stored on the device. In some embodiments, the mobile device automatically selects applications to share or keep private based metadata associated with the applications.
Abstract:
A computing system that supports the use of multiple displays in display mirroring mode and extended display mode may automatically determine a display mode in which to configure the system (with little or no user input) based on various characteristics of the displays in the system. For example, the system may determine that a television, projector, or other presentation type display is connected in the system, and in response, may determine that the system should be configured in a display mirroring mode, rather than in an extended display mode. The system may also determine that the presentation type display is the preferred display, and may render image content in a best (or preferred) mode for that display using its native resolution, aspect ratio or color profile. The system may then scale the rendered image content for display on other (non-preferred) displays, such as an internal display, without re-rendering it.
Abstract:
A computing device provides methods and workflow for setting up a shared family account on a content storage system, including the creation of accounts for child family members. A computing device supports the creation of a family account using an account on the content storage system associated with an adult family member acting as a family organizer. The family organizer can designate a specific account as a purchase account for allowing other family member to purchase content from content servers associated with the content storage system. The family organizer can invite other adult family members to join the shared family account. The family organizer can create new accounts on the content storage system for child family members, and can designate access and purchase restrictions for such child family members. Family members have access to shared storage content, as well as services such as family calendar, group messaging, and device location.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of the invention provide a mobile device with multiple access modes. The device in some embodiments has at least two access modes, a primary access mode and a secondary access mode, that provide different restrictions for accessing the applications and/or data that are stored on the device. In some embodiments, the primary access mode of the device provides unfettered access to all of the device's applications and/or data that are available to a user, while its secondary access mode provides access to a limited set of applications and/or data that are stored on the device. In some embodiments, the device provides tools to select applications for the secondary access mode.
