Abstract:
A membrane filtration device comprising: a retentate plate, a permeate plate, and a membrane sandwiched between the retentate plate and the permeate plate, wherein the retentate plate comprises at least one feed channel extending from a distribution manifold, and at least one drain channel extending from a collection manifold, wherein a feed channel is fluidly connected to a drain channel via through-holes extending from a first side of the retentate plate, from a feed channel, to an opposing second side of the retentate plate, and through-holes extending from the second side of the retentate plate to the first side of the retentate plate, into a drain channel, wherein ridges extend from the retentate plate and/or the permeate plate for supporting the membrane.
Abstract:
A system for packaging a low acid liquid is provided herein. The system includes feeding unit configured to feed the low acid liquid into a filtration unit. The filtration unit is configured to filter the low acid liquid by using a number of pores provided on a micro sieve membrane. Further, the filtered low acid liquid is provided to an aseptic buffer unit configured to fill the aseptic filtered low acid liquid into packaging containers. The system further includes an automatic cleaning in place unit configured to automatically clean the feeding unit, the filtration unit and the aseptic buffer unit by decontamination using a decontaminating material.
Abstract:
A milking system includes a milking member for extracting milk from an animal, a transport line, a milk tank, a milk filter unit for filtering the milk with a first filter device and a second filter device, each including a filter container and a filter element, and a valve arrangement to convey milk through the devices, where the valve arrangement communicates with a control unit. The milking system further includes an indication device generating an indication to a user when any one of the filter elements needs to be replaced, which filter of the first and second filter device needs to be replaced, and when the filter element indicated to need to be replaced is accessible for replacement. A method for operating and cleaning the milking system is also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an arrangement for filtering milk in a milking system, wherein said arrangement comprises a movable filter magazine provided with at least three filter devices (8), each of which comprises a tube housing a disposable filter and a support structure for supporting the disposable filter, and each of which is connectable to said milking system for filtering milk therein; and an actuating device for connecting each of said at least three filter devices, one at a time, to said milking system.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for reducing the total bacteria count in aqueous dispersions by means of sterile filtration of said dispersions using deep-bed filters (18, 22) pertaining to at least one deep-bed filter device, under pre-determined conditions, notably the temperature of the non-filtered parts the differential pressure in the deep-bed filters (18, 22) and the flow speed of the non-filtered part in the respective deep bed filter device. Known methods are further improved by using non-homogeneous two-phase or multi-phase mixtures as aqueous dispersions, in particular in the form of animal milk and products obtained therefrom such as skimmed milk having a predetermined dispersant content, in particular of lipids and proteins, and by the fact the deep-bed filters (18, 22) of the respective deep-bed filter device are electrically uncharged (unpolar), in that the total bacteria count in aqueous dispersions can be efficiently reduced by means of sterile filtration in a cost-effective manner and with high flow rates on a commercial scale, avoiding the pre-deposition of lipids and/or proteins before the actual sterile filtration.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device and method for milking animals, in which the milk is removed is conveyed though a filter element. Any material which is deposited on the filter element is detected and, if appropriate, identified. After detection is complete, the direction of flow through the filter element is reversed, so that filter material is rinsed clean. The invention also comprises a contamination meter for user in die device and method mentioned above.
Abstract:
A method and device for controlling a milking processing system wherein milk is extracted at each teat of a mammal, such as a cow, and subsequently stored for a longer period. Prior to storing of the milk, it is at least partially or wholly filtered in the connecting conduit to the storage. The filter with any residue which may have remained behind thereon is carried outside the conduit and subsequently detected. A control signal is generated based on a predetermined quantity or quality of the residue of the animal, such that diverse control functions can be started on the basis of varying signals.
