Abstract:
A system for managing flexible conduit or tubing used in pharmaceutical, bioprocess, or food/dairy applications includes a segment of flexible conduit or tubing and a plurality of conduit tracks, each conduit track including a conduit channel disposed on a first side thereof and extending along the length of each respective conduit track and dimensioned to receive the segment of flexible conduit or tubing therein, each conduit track further including a connector channel disposed on a second, opposing side and extending along the length of each respective conduit track and containing the one or more connectors that connect adjacent conduit tracks. The conduit tracks can be connected to each other or other process components.
Abstract:
Stackable infusion filtration and storage systems are described herein. Components of the systems may include a first container, a second container, and a cooperating third container. The stackable systems may further include a sleeve component and one or more lids. The stackable systems can concurrently capture liquid as the liquid separates from an infused butter mixture and solidify butter in separate cooperating stackable containers. Methods of use are also described.
Abstract:
A device is introduced for preparation of milk and other beverages in bar or restaurant environments. The device has the unique ability to generate a micro-foam which imparts a sweet taste to the beverage without use of sugar, that sweet taste being equivalent to adding a flat teaspoon of sugar to a traditional cup of cappuccino. The computerized device consists of sensors and a fine mesh that is pushed through the beverage by means of an actuator adapted for this purpose while imparting quantitative heat through the process.
Abstract:
A liquid milk product, including a milk and a whey, but other than sweet whey, is demineralized by an electrodeionization process by passing the product to be demineralized through a resin bed of strong cationic exchange resin contained in an electrodeionization dilution compartment or through a resin bed of weak anionic and of cationic, particularly strong cationic, exchange resins in the compartment, and in the process, the pH of the wash solution present in the electrodionization cation and anion concentration compartments is maintained so that the solution present in each concentration compartment has a pH value less than 5.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process and a preparation for deactivating viruses inside living human and animal organisms by application of a terpene obtainable from aromatic plants by steam distillation. The terpenes cited are: black pepper oil, cinnamon flower oil, cardamon oil, linallyl acetate, cinnamic aldehyde, safrol, carvon and cis/trans citral.

Abstract:
A moveable mould member is configured for use in an installation for moulding food products from a pumpable foodstuff mass. The mould member has a permeable mould body with an outer surface forming at least part of the outer mould member surface, which outer surface of the permeable mould body is fluid tight; mould cavities and a permeable volume defining fine openings opening out at the mould cavities, such that each mould cavity of the permeable mould body is delimited at least in part by a permeable volume. In addition, the mould drum has, for each group of mould cavities from which food products are to be ejected simultaneously, an ejection fluid inlet allowing the entry of pressurized fluid, and one or more channels extending from the associated ejection fluid inlet to the one or more permeable volumes of the group of mould cavities.

Abstract:
A membrane filtration device comprising: a retentate plate, a permeate plate, and a membrane sandwiched between the retentate plate and the permeate plate, wherein the retentate plate comprises at least one feed channel extending from a distribution manifold, and at least one drain channel extending from a collection manifold, wherein a feed channel is fluidly connected to a drain channel via through-holes extending from a first side of the retentate plate, from a feed channel, to an opposing second side of the retentate plate, and through-holes extending from the second side of the retentate plate to the first side of the retentate plate, into a drain channel, wherein ridges extend from the retentate plate and/or the permeate plate for supporting the membrane.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for manufacturing dairy products comprising vitamin D. In general, the methods can include feeding dairy animals with a feed composition comprising a dairy animal feed and inactive yeast comprising vitamin D2. Milk produced by the dairy animals is thereby provided which can include an increased vitamin D content. In some embodiments, milk produced by the dairy animals can be processed to form a dairy product comprising vitamin D.
