    Abstract: A device for delivering buffer solution into a buffer cartridge comprises a needle assembly and a pusher. The septa of a buffer cartridge and an anesthetic cartridge are advanced onto a transfer needle, and the pusher advances a plunger into the buffer cartridge to deliver buffer through the transfer needle into the anesthetic cartridge. A separate exhaust needle allows excess anesthetic from the anesthetic cartridge to be exhausted. A compression member is usually provided to maintain a force against the plunger on the buffer cartridge to pressurize and stabilize the contents during sterilization and/or storage.

    Abstract: A reconstitution assembly includes a housing including a lower sleeve and an upper sleeve, including a first container and a second container disposed vertically opposite the first container. A transfer set assembly is disposed within the housing between the first container and the second container. The transfer set assembly includes an upper spike housing and a lower spike housing, with a flow path defined through the upper spike housing and the lower spike housing. The transfer set assembly is configured to access contents of the first container and then upon the activation of a triggering mechanism, create a fluid pathway between the first container and the second container. The triggering mechanism includes trigger fingers which ensure the transfer set assembly sequentially accesses the contents of the first container before accessing the contents of the second container. The disposition of the first container activates the triggering mechanism.

    Abstract: A mixing system (1) adapted to allow first contents of a first container (2) and second contents of a second container (3) to mix to form a material. The mixed material is retrieved to a syringe (20) without being foamed. The mixing system (1) comprises a transfer unit (5) which is adapted to receive the first container (2) at a first port (11), the second container (3) at a second port (12) and the syringe (20) at a third port (13). The transfer unit (5) further houses a number of fluid pathways (14, 15, 16) interconnecting the three ports (11, 12, 13) as well as a number of flow control members (17, 18, 19, 22) for controlling fluid flow between the containers (2, 3) and the syringe (20). At least one of the flow control members (17, 18, 19, 22) allows a user to switch between two states of fluid flow, one in which fluid flow is enabled between the first port (11) and the third port (13) as well as between the third port (13) and the second port (12), and one in which fluid flow is enabled between the second port (12) and the third port (13). The invention also relates to a transfer unit comprising first and second ports for receiving first and second containers, respectively, a third port for coupling to a syringe, a number of fluid pathways interconnecting the ports, at least one flow control member which allows a user to switch between two states of fluid flow, and a locking means to ensure that the at least one flow control member can only be manipulated when a syringe is coupled to the third port.

    Abstract: A device for automatically mixing powder for injection, includes an injector body, a solvent bottle, a needle, a first impelling unit and a second impelling unit. The injector body has a solute bottle and its mouth is opposite the mouth of the solvent bottle. The first impelling unit is disposed upon the solvent bottle. The second impelling unit is sleeved with a needle and located between the mouth of solute bottle and mouth of solvent bottle. A first and a second impelling sleeve-are driven by the solvent bottle to slide along the solute bottle, so the first end of the needle is fixed and extend through the solute bottle. The solvent bottle drives the first impelling sleeve and second impelling sleeve to turn with each other. The second impelling sleeve slides opposite the first impelling sleeve to make the second end of the needle extend through the solvent bottle.

    Abstract: In certain embodiments, a vial adaptor for removing liquid contents from a vial includes a piercing member and a bag. The bag can be contained within the piercing member such that the bag is introduced to the vial when the vial adaptor is coupled with the vial. In some embodiments, the bag expands within the vial as liquid is removed from the vial via the adaptor, thereby regulating pressure within the vial. In other embodiments, a vial includes a bag for regulating pressure within the vial as liquid is removed therefrom. In some embodiments, a vial adaptor is coupled with the vial in order to remove the liquid. In some embodiments, as the liquid is removed from the vial via the adaptor, the bag expands within the vial, and in other embodiments, the bag contracts within the vial.
